Friday,
We started a day behind as all of are competitors had been testing all of Thursday. I picked up the track quick, and by the 2nd session we were running comparable times. The testing went well we kept on tuning and tuning. I felt confident in the kart for Saturdays racing.
Saturday,
Today was all mixed up, as our continual luck did not diminish. The morning practice was okay but left much to be desired for qualifying. We missed the setup for qualifying, and correspondingly did not qualify well. So we decided to make some big changes to create some life back in my kart, by swapping out axles. I only got 6 laps into the Pre-Final before the axle shifted and the chain popped off. As we were warming up my engine for the Final, the water pump gears exploded. I did not make the Final.
Sunday,
Today was better than Saturday only because I finished all the races, still not without problems. With not finishing any of the Saturday’s races we were very, very far behind my rivals. The morning practice went all right, and that’s about it. Qualifying was not much better as we could not keep up with the changing track. We ran okay except for the fact that my clutch plate came dangerously loose. We made some juristic changes for the final. And my god they worked! The kart was handling brilliantly, except one of the engine seals blew out and I had no power.
I’ am heading to Edmonton this weekend for the Rok Cup Finale’. Hopefully are looming lucking will fade away.
Big Thanks for my sponsors for there ongoing support in my racing season.
