What inspires you to compete?
My friends are what really inspire me to compete. We are always pushing each other and having small contests on who can go fastest or jump the highest. Riding just isn`t as fun without riding with, and against, my friends.
Do you train? What does your schedule look like?
I train in the weight room on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays; I go running on Tuesdays, Thrusdays, Fridays, and Sundays; and I try to ride as much as possible (usually on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays). A lot of my riding is cross-training to improve on existing skills and fitness. I ride BMX quite a bit to improve tricks and flow, and I ride crosscountry a lot to keep in shape. BMX offers a more anaerobic type exercise that improves long distance sprinting, while crosscountry offers an aerobic type excercise that improves indurance.
Describe your style...
My style is smooth and controlled, with flow and line choice that shows experience. I ride fast and land almost everything first try.
How's Life Treating You?
Life is great...except that I don`t have enough money to buy a dedicated freeride/DH bike (mine is only holding up for now because I am fairly light weight).
Do you like to travel? What's your best (clean) road trip story?
I love traveling. My friend Brett took another friend (RJ) and I on a trip to Leavenworth Washington to ride. We had a great time riding all day in the nice weather. There was a lot to do even though the trails weren`t in very good shape. There were lots of long skinnys to ride. WOW, what a blast! I can`t wait until our senior trip. A few of us are going to go mountain biking at the west coast`s best freeride spots (including world famous Whistler).
