Q&A - Competition
How did you get started?
I went to a flat track race at our local speedway to check it out and I knew I had to do it! I competed in the next race and I finished 2nd. I have been hooked ever since.
List your competitive highlights:
Multiple go-kart championships
Region 6 go-kart nationals
3rd in high points in both stock quad and open quad at Willamette Speedway 2007
What are you planning for next season?
I would like to travel nationally in the future, I just need some financial help to get my bike ready to go.
What has been your biggest accomplishment?
Having the opportunity to go to the race track each week and race!
Q&A - Personal
Employment / Experience Summary
I started racing go-karts when I was 8. I've raced locally, and traveled as far away as Louisiana, and many places in between. I won multiple championships, I was 4th in the 98 region 6 nationals. I raced motocross starting when I was 16. I ran amatuer motocross for a few years locally, but it didn't excite me the way a circle track did. I got a quad in 2000 and found my perfect match. My first season on a flat track quad I got 3rd in the stock class points and 3rd in the open class points. I am currently running my second season.
Why do you compete?
I love the sounds and the smells and the feeling of being at the race track. The competition gets my adrenaline running. I've watched my granddad compete when I was little and I feel like I'm fulfilling my dream.
Describe your style...
I love the feeling of victory, so sometimes I stick myself out there and take risks trying to win, knowing sometimes I may go home empty handed (or with a broken wrist or a broken bike!)
