I'm Competitive

  • I work-out and stretch everyday for at least 1.5 hours to minimize injuries.
  • I practice efficiently and at 100% everyday.
  • At every practice I do at least two twenty-minute motos to increase endurance.
  • I never give up on a moto.
  • Motocross is always on my mind, so when I'm on bike I`m prepared to make the most of it.
  • I`m always supplied with quality equipment and transportation.

Past vs Future

How I got started

I developed a taste for motocross when my dad and I would go out to the track to watch our friends ride. One day he asked me if I wanted a dirt bike. Of coarse, I did, so he bought us each one. I got a Honda XR80 and he got a CR 250. When we arrived home I rode for the first time in my backyard. My first race was in 2000 at Black Rock Motorcross in Leitchfield, KY. I was very nervous. When the race was over I was happy to have finished. The first two years I was just racing for fun. Toward the end of the 2001 season I started to really get into racing and I wanted to win a race.
I won my first Trophy at Podium1 Motoplex in Charlestown, Indiana. I got second place. My first first-place award was from a B&M Motor Sports race held at the Bullet County Fair.

Goals for the Future

My goal for the 2007 season is to practice more and attend many races with different terrains. I want to make it to Lortta Lynns in the schoolboy 12-15 and 125 B classes. I also plan to qualify at the World Mini Grand Prix again. This winter I am going to California for two months so I can stay conditioned and continue training every day. We recently rebuilt the track at my house. It`s now more technical with many diverse sections.

About Me

What has been your most embarrassing moment?

My most embarrassing moment was actually at my first race. I had never practiced starts before and had recently changed bikes from a XR80 to a KX65. At the gate I probably had my bike totally pinned out because I couldn`t hear it over the roar or the other bikes. When the gate dropped I just dumpped my clutch and immediately looped out and crashed into another rider. That`s not even the embarrassing part! I got up and tried to restart my bike but couldn`t get it to fire. My dad tried starting it too, but it still would not. Then we heard a tiny voice call out, "You got mud in your tail pipe." When we turned around there stood a little girl pointing at my silencer. The bike wouldn`t start because it was clogged with muck.

Why do you like this sport?

There`s no other sport like motocross! It`s the only sport were riders can go so fast and jump so high with only a bike beneath them. By practicing proper techniques I do so while staying in control. League sports are kind of lame because you can be the best, but if your on a horrible team your still going to lose. Motocross teams are different because riders train and practice together but once their on the track everyone is out there to do their best.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

I wake up around 8 AM every morning and stretch. Then I work out for about an hour and stretch again. Afterwards, I start on my home school work and finish by 2 PM. Then I gear up and ride either at my house or at a local track. After warming up I run at least two twenty-minute motos to increase my endurance.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I want to be a professional motocross racer. If I`m not riding though, I still want to work in the industry because being around motorcycles would never get old to me. I would be proud to work as a team manager or a sports doctor/physical therapist because I could work with riders and help them be fast and win big races.
