118 dedicated racers braved horizontal rain and strong winds to compete in round 3 of the extremely competitive Diablo Domination race series. With my run going off in the middle of down pour I managed to keep the bike upright through rivers of water for a 27th place finish.

A great start to the season. Over 300 racers arrived from around the US and 19 different countries to race against the worlds best riders. I managed to qualify 80th out of over 280 amature competitors on Saturday with a 3:48. On Sunday I was able to step things up with a 3:32 to a final standing of 64th.

After 2 complete weekends, over 200 man hours of construction we have completed the longest Plattekill DH race course in history. At almost 1.5 miles this should put Pro times at around 4:30. It was a lot of hard work and my arms are still aching but this course will be the highlight of the race series.

Update 8/21/06: The race was a huge success. Despite rain storms the night before the race the course held up and everybody had a blast - no matter how much their legs cramped and lungs burned. Top Pro time was a 4:37.

There are plans to improve upon this course for next year.
