Un grande fin de semana! Once again Ensenada downhill racing was a fun and challenging adventure. Many thanks to Manny Vargas for his organizational skills and check out his new travel website www.ffat.biz , you will be en route to Cabo or Andorra before you know it! It was very comfortable crashing at Senor Dejan`s abode only 15 minutes from the venue at the Parque Ecologico. Stephanie wrapped up first once again with Alfonso taking the top male honors. Apparently the ladies were a bit too scared of the twenty and thirty foot doubles to take on the course...or was it the insanely steep, loose dirt? Either way this was a race course to remember. Jonnny from JMP racing worked since february to get the big rocks, steep chutes, dirt jumps, and small pedaling sections into a cohesive lineup. Of course after the racing it was off to Puerto Nuevo for a big lobster dinner. Half of us went blind looking for the green flash at sunset before a moderately long drive through Otay Mesa and home. I`ve said it before and I say it here again now; if you have not tried racing in Mexico you are missing a great opportunity for fun and winter training.
