Sunday we participated in the Cal State DH Finals at Fontana. We were mercifully blessed by overcast skies in the morning and moderate temperatures (with little to no wind) in the afternoon. The course was different than the previous 2 years and was fast with alot of turns and of course the infamous Fontucky sand and ruts. The course was short (no wall) and any bobbles cost you several seconds and put you off the top of the podium. :-)

I was happy with my runs, trying to better the second one but was actually 2 seconds slower (but it felt faster). I ended up fourth in the Pro Women's class and ended up 3rd Overall for the 2 race series. I have had a blast racing Pro this year (at Fontana which does not require a USA Cycling Pro license). I never won any money, but I did get on the podium several times and felt like I held my own.

For me, coming in 10 - 20 seconds behind much younger women, has been a great inspiration to me. As the years go by, there are less and less women competing, so it has been a real blessing to have a class of 3 to 10 women to race all season.

A big thank you goes out to all my sponsors who have made the last 6 months of racing possible!
