April 27-28, 2007
A good time was had by all at the Chamberlin Ranch AMBC Downhill in Los Olivos, CA. We attended the event last year and had so much fun we decided to do it again.
The DH turnout was better than expected at 400+. Unfortunately, all of the Expert Women were under 29 and of course, being 50, they only allow me to race in the Masters age groups (30 and over). So I had to race myself and go for personal best.
My first run was 2:27 so I decided to pull out the stops and see if I could better that on my second run which I did at 2:22. The course was fun and fast. I was able to ride more of the obstacles this year which I was glad of. Last year it was my first race back after recuperating from Torn Rotator Cuf and Bicep surgery the previous October. I forgot just how much I have missed jumping!!!
Overall it was a great weekend if you don't count the injuries sustained by friends. :-)
