The 2nd round of the SRC Winter Series is now history. We had great weather and no wind this time around. Don Jackson put together an awesome Pro/Expert course with lots of challenging, fast, and technical sections. It was a great weekend! Here's the results:

The 1st race of the SRC Winter Series has come and gone. Saturday practice was hampered by 50 mile per hour gusts and chilly temperatures. Sunday was blue skies and little to no wind with temps in the 30s during the early morning and then warmed up to the mid 60s. Great weather for downhilling in Fontana (sure beats 110 degrees in the summer).

In addition, my brand new DH bike made it's debut this weekend. After having sold last year's bike in November I have been waiting the arrival of my new Intense Socom. What can I say, but if you can be in love with a bike, this is it. It weighed in at a svelte 40 pounds. What a difference 5 less pounds and 6 months of training makes!!! Sprinting the wall was so much easier.

So this was my 1st Pro Women's race for 2007 and I ended up 3rd out of 5. Not bad for a 50 yr old grandma of 3!!! Hope to see you all out at the next race in 2 weeks.

Another year of racing at Fontana has come and gone. Despite the fact that I missed the Winter Series due to rehab of my shoulder, I managed to place 3rd overall in Expert Women. Here is an excerpt from Mountain Bike Action.
