Got my new EVS gear in and raced with it this past weekend. Wow the TAKT helmets i picked up is super comfortable and extremly lightweight, and the strata elbow and knee guards I wore during the race i couldn't even tell were there. EVS makes some great products if you are in the market for a new helmet you gotta check out the their TAKT line of helmets. |

Round 1 Missouri Hare Scrambles Championship "Elk Creek" Lebanon Missouri. Open B Class
Weather: Friggen cold something like 15 degrees the night before with a race day forecast of 35 degrees and 3-4 inches of snow on the ground.
The Course: The course was laid out by Steve Levain and consisted of a 13.3 mile loop with every type of terrain you can think of, Slime covered rocks and ledges, a 3-4ft rock wall climb, slippery roots, log doubles, creeks crossings(in 30deg weather no less), more slime covered rocks and some super cool flowy trail that all of course was snow covered! We had many choices of lines and several obstacles that challenged your riding ability and decision making all while racing. Basically the epitomy of a Hare-Scramble race. In the beginning traction was not an issue and racing was fast and furious but towards the end everything turned to mush and made riding very challenging let alone racing. |
