What inspires you to compete?
I love competition; whether its on the track or a stupid game with my friends. I love to compete and i always want to win. Also, i look at all the great riders out there today and from the past. When people see a rider who is just railing, and they stand there in awe and watch...i want to be that rider. I want people to see me ride and just say "wow". Riders like Doug Henry and Ricky James inspire me. They are so tough, and if they can come back and be where they are now, i know i can do anything if i want it bad enough.
Why do you like this sport?
I like this sport becuase its all that i know. My parents are behind me a lot, but sometimes they have their doubts, mostly because they dont want to see me hurt. They want me to try football, baseball, wrestling, whatever, and i jsut cant do it. I actually did martial arts for 3 years and i have earned a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, but i quit so i could race everyweekend. I tried to play football this year and i went to one practice and decided that football definately wasnt where i want to be. I want to be on my bike, not being yelled at by a coach.
Music?
everything
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I have no idea what i want to do when i grow up. Right now i am a junior at Northwood High School in Pittsboro, NC, and it feels like i have plenty of time to think about what i want to do, but i know that it is going to go by very fast. I am thinking of going to school for mechanical engineering at MMI in Orlando, Florida, or maybe electrical engineering somewhere, i dont know. But i really want to go places with riding also. Right know i just have no idea, im just living one day at a time.
Do you like to travel? What's your best (clean) road trip story?
i love to travel. I love traveling to the races and seeing new things, places, and meeting new people along the way. In 2001, i went to the John Penton GNCC in Ohio from New Jersey (where i used to live) with GNCC Pro ATV rider Chris Borich, who is currently ranked #2 in the nation along with my dad and another friend. Chris Borich is my hero so that was a very big deal to me. Another trip is when my dad and i drove from our home in North Carolina to the Supercross race in Houston, Texas. It was a 14 hour drive and my dad and i loved it.
