How I got started

I got started in the sport when I was about 14 years old. A friend of the family talked me into buying a dirt bike instead of buying a go kart. He tought me everything I know about how to ride and how to work on them. He helped me rebuild my first bike, which was a 1979 Yamaha DT 100. I quickly grew out of that bike and purchased a 1987 Suzuki DR 200. Had that bike for about a year, then bought a 1994 Kawasaki KDX 200. This was the first bike that I raced competively. The best I ever did on that bike was 6th place. After that, the only type of riding that I did was play riding. Four years later, the same guy that talked me out of the go kart, talked me in to buying a 2004 KTM 200 EXC.

Goals for the Future

im goin to work hard so i can move myself up to the AA Expert class.

Why do you like this sport?

Its not like other sports. Its all about me, if i crash, over shoot a turn, case a jump, stall my bike through a mud bog i have no one else to blame but myself. I dont have to depend on the other guy to do his job for me to be successful. if i win its cause i went out and kicked some butt.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

I go to the gym three nights a week and work out for two hours each time I go. One hour on cardio and the other hour on weights. Then i try to get out and ride twice a week.

How's Life Treating You?

Life has been well so far, im 23 years old ive graduated from high school and college, i have a beautiful wife who supports me, my decisions and my expensive habit, i have my own house, and toys. So in my opinion life has treated me good so far, but i have always worked hard to get where i am now.
