Overview

How I got started

I started racing on a haro dirt jumping bike when I was 9 years old. I quickly showed my parents that I was serious about racing and they got me a race bike. I was hooked on racing BMX at my first night at Lebanon BMX and have been racing at least 3 times per week . I consistently race at 4 tracks and I travel with my team all over the East Coast. I am currently 15 years old and I turned expert 5 years ago. I also started to race in the cruiser class 4 years ago.

Goals for the Future

My goal for 2007 is to continue to have fun and make friends, defend my State Championship for the 4th year in a row, and to place top 10 in my district in both 20 inch and cruiser class. This year I plan on racing at as many ABA and NBL multi-point and national races as I can.

Some Personal Information About Me:

I am 16 years old and love racing and riding all types of bikes. When I am not racing I am dirt jumping (or making dirt jumps) ride parks and skateboarding with my friends. We also do cross country rides/ road rides and ride our motorcycles as often as we can. In the winter I snowboard every chance I get.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

I started to weight train during the winter. I try to lift 3 times a week. Now that it is getting nice I still lift 3 times a week but now I use my stumpy gate to do sprints everyday. I also do a lot of bike/skate park riding to keep in shape and I have a road bike and do some longer rides to build on my endurance. I`m on one of my bikes everyday.

Do you like to travel? What's your best (clean) road trip story?

I compete all over the county because I love riding and meeting new people. Along with racing I started doing some park competitions. Last summer I built up a new free style bike (that I bought with my own money from cutting grass and saver stamps). The day I built it up I talked my dad into taking me to Stone Cliff skate/bike park to break it in and work out bugs. When we got there we found out they were having a free style competition. I never competed in free style before so I figured I had nothing to lose .. no pressure just go out and have fun. After signing up they called me back to registration and told me they did not have a ?kids group (16 and under)? I decided to enter into the 16 and over group. I had to borrow a CD with music from another person in the competition. So for the first time on the new bike no music and no other kids in my age group I went out and did my run. I had a blast, I felt it went well but I realized there was no way I would win. I watched the other riders and they were al so good. So when they announced the winners I was hoping to make the top 10, top 5 would be great. They started to announce the winners. Once they got to the top 3 I figured my run was not as good as I thought. I hooked up with my dad and was walking out at least I had fun right? While walking to the car my dad stopped me and told me I won 1st place. We still laugh about that day and I will remember that run forever.

Competitive Highlights

This year I am State Champion in 15 Cruiser, I am currently in the top 10 in district points in both 20" and 24".
