sad to announce that due to my crash at the last District 37 Big 6 GP in Gorman CA. I'm still recovering from some broken ribs and reluctantly have to pull out of the final round of the Big 6 series. I will be concentrating on getting better and looking forward to the start of the 2010 racing season in the first weekend of Feb.

So, until then I hope everyone has a great holidays and a happy and save new years.

Thank you again for all your help and support,

Jim Mackey

District 27 Big GP,

Unfortunately I went down really hard in the Unclassified race ( practice race ) that is held at the beginning of the day. I managed to finish the race and was able to get the bike prepped for my main race of the day ( 4-stroke HWT ). A few hours later the adrenalin wore off and the pain of that fall began to be felt. I suffered massive bruising along my side and possible broken ribs. At this time I do not know if I will be well enough for the last round of the Big 6 GP in December, held at Ryan Hughes’s private training track in Anza CA.

Thanks again for your help and support and I hope to be back racing as soon as I recover.

finished with a First place in both motos and ended the season with a 3rd place overall in the Vet Ski Open...

I want to thank all of you for helping myself along with other racers for making it possible to afford racing in these finical hard times... I really appreciate it and I do my best to represent you company in all my racing and practice adventures...

second moto was a little crazier... The afternoon wind was kicking up and it was an on shore wind... Causing some pretty good swells coming up on the shore.... The start was great... pretty much exactly the same as the first moto... The same guy cut in front of me off the start... but after that the whole race was a battle of attrition... We were just trying to finish the race... Every time you turned towards the shore you had to keep your ski from diving into the back of a swell and submarining your ski getting a face full of 50 gallons of water... There were guys falling all over the place... including myself.. You literally spent half your time dodging other riders trying to stay on the coarse... When the moto ended I had no idea where I finished and what I ended up for the over all...

The first moto started of great, I managed to convince my wife into holding for me at the start... She hadn't helped me out for years and she did pretty well... I got great starts in both motos, so thank you Tabitha... The first moto the combined the Expert Ski Limited and the Vets into the same race... So, off the start I was first off the line but before the end of the straight away a racer from the Expert Limited class cut me off... but I was first in my class, so I didn't stress out... I just kept me head down and put in 8 hard and consistent laps... I had a couple of laps where I was battling with another Vet but I managed to keep him off until he cut a buoy and got in front of me... He ended up getting called on it and the tacked on another lap putting me in first for the win.

Hello there PWC Sponsors,

Well it was another great day of Personal Watercraft racing with DMPmotorsports at Lake Elsinore CA. this past weekend. They put on a great last round or racing... The coarse was a pretty good size including a split side for passing...This season I have been racing in the Vet Ski Open class.. aboard my 760cc superjet..

season has come to an end and the summer is over and MX racing is about to pick up again... I Can't wait until the Oct. 3rd District 37 Big 6 GP... It's time to get back on the dirt and tear it up!!!

Hello there Sponsors,

Well it's summer break for the Southern California's AMA District 37 Big 6 GP's. A time to put in some practice and an opportunity to be that much better when racing resumes in October. During the summer I will be entering some Personal Watercraft races at Lake Elsinore CA.

OK, to wrap up the last two rounds of the Big 6 GP's... we'll start off with Rd #3 at 29 Palms. In the Nov. Hwt. 4-Stoke class I got a great start and was battling for 2nd place for most of the race... Not soon after I broke away and was pulling on the rider in 1st, I over shot a deep sandy berm and went off the track... when I went to get back on to the track I stalled the bike... very bad on a hot CRF 450... needless to say by the time I got the bike fired back up I ended up in 11th place.. I was pretty bummed out...  In the Nov. Vet class I got a the worst start ever.. dead last... It took about 5 kicks before I was on my way.. by that time I was the only one standing there on the line... I was very pissed off... I passed about half the my class in the first lap and kept passing riders until the checkered flag flew... I ended up finishing 6th out of 24 riders in my class.

Rd #4 was held at a brand new venue for the Big 5 GP promoters... Primm Nevada... which is on the state line from California to Nevada about 30 miles from Las Vegas... This was a very fast track like 29 Palms was... You definitely want to stay one gear up on the front sprocket to keep that top end speed up. The Nov. Hwt 4-Stroke class was tough.. the track was completely beat up from all the riders in the earlier races. It was just a battle to finish the race... Since it was a live engine start everyone was off the line at the same time... I got an OK start about 5-6th... After digging the front end in the volkswaggon size sand woops 3 times I finished in 6th place. The next day was a little easier in the Nov. Vet class, but I think I got a little too excited from my whole shot start and slid out in the first turn that they totally overwatered.. once again dead last again... It was the same story as 29 Palms except I ran out of time in this race and finished 8th place...

  My current standings are:
Nov. Hwt. 4-Stroke Class.. 3rd place.
Nov. +30 Vet Class.. 3rd and 16th overall in the entire Vet Class.

I want to thank all of my sponsors for all the help the give to us amateur racers and make it possible for us to afford to go out there every other weekend race and have fun doing it... Thanks again...

I want to put out special thanks to Mark Sheffield at Riva Motorsports and the guys at Factory Effex for helping me out with my graphics this season.

Hello there Sponsors,

Well the 2nd round of races at the District 37 Big 6 GP at Glen Helen Raceway CA. went pretty good in one class and crazy in the other class...

The Vet 30+ I finished 4th out of 27.... and that was after the worst start ever.... dead engine and it took 3-4 kicks to get going... needless to say I had to pass guys by the hand full for the first 15 mins of the race..... I was ridding like Jason Lawrence.... I was trying to keep it as clean as I could... but I think I have taken out a couple of guys....... I was a little pissed off getting a dead last start..

The 4-Stroke HWT class was great... trading 4-5th position for about two laps... then I tried to go around the right of a big hole and a little kicker shot me across to the left side into a tree..... It's official... I became a tree hugger.... after what seemed to be an eternity... ( 2-3 min) I ended up 10th overall out of 21 riders.....

Well the next round is in 29 Palms April 4-5....... That is a fast race.... a lot of wide open trails/roads.... you definitely want to gear up for that race.....

Once again I want to thank all of you for are the help and support...

Keeping the passes clean and going fast....
