Bike Days 2007 Canton, Ohio

Canton, Ohio

2007 Bike Days

Saturday, May 26th, 2007, my family and I headed to Canton, Ohio to race Bike Days 2007. We arrived at the track around 9:30 a.m. Ray, Roy and Jeff were already there and saved a spot for the Wards. Ray rode Tyler’s 450; he did very well for not racing for a while. Jeff Lowery brought the JET Racing CR 85 for me to ride. I was very excited. My dad put me on the CR 85, it was funny, and I could not even touch the ground. We even lowered it down. My dad had to hold me on the line in order to race. A few racers thought my dad was riding with me. My friend Hunter joined us for the weekend. The sky’s looked like it was going to rain both days.

On Saturday, I got 1st on the 65 cc and ended up 9th out of 17 riders on the JET Racing CR 85, not bad for my first ride. After the races, J.R. got out his football and we played for a while, it was fun.

Sunday, we woke up to a sky that was beautiful. Right after the heats, we got a down pore of rain and all 15 of us ended up in our camper. It was hot in there with all those people in there. I was so glad to see the rain stop and us be able to race.

During the main event, I started on the second line on the 85cc. As soon as I took off, rider number 25 out of New York and J.R got tangled up, he went down and I had nowhere else to go but to run into the bike. Thank god, we were both OK. We restarted the race and by the time the race was over, I had moved up to 6th place, my mom was freaking out. A mother of another rider was providing my mother step by step on my position throughout the entire race, as she could not watch. She was so excited when the race was over and was very proud to see how well I did on the 85cc for the very first time.

Thanks to the Wells family and the Rispoli family for providing me a seat for the JET Racing CR 85 so I could touch the ground. Big Thanks to Ray for allowing me the opportunity to ride and Jeff Lowery for bringing the bike for me to ride this weekend.

Thanks to Scotty Brown and the Bike Days crew for  putting on such an awesome race.
