How I got started

I`ve been riding seriously for over a decade. I raced XC for a few seasons before losing interest. The past few years I`ve been focused on riding street and dirt jumping. After a long hiatus from downhilling/freeriding,a few of my friends talked me into racing. I`ve been hooked since that first start gate.

Goals for the Future

I`m hoping to have an even better season with more competitve gear. While it`s been fun blowing by $2k rigs on my old bullit, I`m psyched to now have a Sinister R9 from my friends at Germantown Cycles. Definitely looking forward to a fast & fun 2007!

Describe your style...

I grew up racing motocross and hare scrambles. Since age 4 I`ve been comfortable with 2 wheels and a throttle, I think that creates a certain style. I`m comfortable at high speed and know that the faster you go, the smoother it is.

Music?

Rock n Roll stole my youth. I spent the better part of the 90s singing and playing guitar in an independent punk band. I`m done with that phase of my life for now, but still start to get the shakes if I don`t get my daily dose of music. I like good stuff from every genre; bluegrass, metal, hardcore, punk... etc, etc... This experience also acquainted me with the idea of marketing yourself from an early age. Perception is everything in music, and it ties into racing. I work to make my sponsors look good.

Employment / Experience Summary

I`m a web/graphic designer by trade and have gotten several of my clients through biking. I`m currently doing some Ad design for SIC as well as designing a website for a fellow biker`s start up company. Feel free to check out my portfolio at http://www.blanksky.com

Winning the Mid Atlantic Cup Overall in Expert this year was a big surprise. I had hoped for a top-three finish, but my consistency counted for a lot. Next year I'm looking to spend more time in that #1 spot. Every race I hit this year is a bigger and better highlight as I get faster and have more and more fun.
