The whole family is ready to get back to the race track. We had a wonderful Christmas break--even though we got stranded in Colorado's record breaking snow storm! The drive to Sturgis will be nothing compared to the 19+ hours we had to spend driving home since the Denver airport closed down. Connor got a brand new Cobra for Christmas with some awesome graphics, and he can't wait to try it out, although we'll be keeping his old bike as his practice bike, and this new one will be for competition. Over the break he has practiced doubling on his track here at home, so we're hoping some of his practice will pay off on the big track. He's still holding 2nd place in points in both classes, and we hope to maintain that position through the duration of this series.

This is the first weekend in a loooong time that Connor doesn't have a race. It's a welcome break, but I know we will be ready to get back at it on December 30th for round 5 of the Mid-America Arenacross series. We are well pleased with Connor's standings, he is running 2nd in points in both the 50 7-8 class and the 50 open class nearly half-way through the series. So until round 5, we will be enjoying the Chrismas break. Connor gets out of school next Friday and we will be leaving the next day on our annual ski trip to Colorado. Connor has been skiing since 2001, and he's anxious to try snowboarding this year. There's not much, surprisingly, on his Christmas wish list this year. He's asking for a Pogo stick (saw some kid on one at a race months ago, and thought it looked like fun), a Nintendo DS, a Mongoose bike, and some Heelys. He's such an easy-going kid, I'm sure he'll be pleased with whatever Santa delivers. May God bless you all this Christmas season and in the coming year.
