How I got started

I have rode atv`s since I was two, but never raced. In December of 2005 I was riding at Three Palms track in Conroe and a member of STQRA asked if I would like to race. I then signed up to be a member at the next race and have been participating since then.

Bio

What inspires you to compete?

The reason I like to compete is the excitement of knowing that you trained hard and when the last lap comes around and you are in first it has paid off.

Some Personal Information About Me:

I have been riding atv`s since I was two years old. My first atv was a Suzuki 50. My dad and my grandpa bought it for me for my Birthday. After that I rode the Suzuki 125. Then i finally got something with shocks. It was Honda 300. After that atv took a beating I won a CR 250 and went and raced it a few times with my buddies that raced motorcross. I took some years off to ride street bikes and now I am racing quads.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

I usually go riding three times a week. I run as much as I can depending on how tired I am from work that day. If I don`t go to to the track I have a small track built on our property just to get a good sweat and a workout.

Do you like to travel? What's your best (clean) road trip story?

My first national would have to be my best trip. It was at Loretta Lynn`s. The president of STQRA is the mechanic for John Natalie,so I had the oppurtunity to meet him and the other pro`s. The last practice I wrecked over a double and ended up with a bent axle two hurt ankles and a hurt shoulder. The first race I came in sixth so I had to race the LCQ. The second race I was first in the hole shot around the tree and ended up flipping over in the third turn. Those were some big breaking bumps! I missed out on the main event, but I learned a lot from the experience of being at a national event.

Employment / Experience Summary

My mom and dad own there own company called CNC Trenching. We install underground utilities such as electric, water, and sewer lines. I have been around this kind of work pretty much all my life. My part includes supervision, bidding jobs, operating backhoes, dozers, and trenchers. Having our own company is a plus because we can schedule work around racing. This I like.

Competitive Highlights

 1st Year: 2005 Beginners Class C

Raced all 10 mottos, and had 10 podium showings with 7 in a roll of them being 1st Place! That was just my first year, 2005,  of racing a quad in competition! I won 1st Over-All racing in  the STQRA Association.

2nd Year: 2006 Novice B Class

Racing my second year, 2006, with STQRA Assocation, I raced all 10 races, and had 10 podium showings again. I won my second year; 1st Over-All for racing in the STQRA Association.

 3rd Year: 2007 A-Class

I raced in the A-Class and now have won my third in a row, Over-All Season Winner with GCQRA!

3rd Year: 2007 Pro-Am Class

I finished out my last race, in the A-Class and won, but ran my 1st Pro-Am class and placed 5th Over-All on another Yamaha with a larger engine! Can't wait for next season!
