What inspires you to compete?
My dad competed at the widowmaker and other various hillclimbs in the 70`s and his background in the sport have truley been the biggest insparation in my life. second to that I would have to say Mel Kimball winning the original widowmaker in the late eighties always stuck in my mind as a 12 year old spectator which I think ispired me until I was able to have the opportunity to begin competing in 1997.
Why do you like this sport?
The sport of motorcycle hillclimbing to me is very competitive yet it is one big challenge after the other. the tracks are always different and it is never repeditive which makes it even more challenging. This being the case I feel like hillclimbing is on a level all by itself and nothing else can compare, it really takes a lot of experience to be able to read a hill in a way that creates an advantage for yourself.
Music?
Ozzy osbourne is good, I listen to all types of music. Billy Squier comes to mind all though he is far from a favorite. Greenday and anything that fits the mood I am in. I also like a lot of oldies.
How's Life Treating You?
I think life treat`s me pretty well. I have had a lot of opportunities in life that I really don`t think a lot of other people get, But I feel like life is like hillclimbing it`s always an uphill battle in one aspect or another and thats why I just keep on trying to get to the top no matter what is in front of me. I also think the saying is true, what goes around comes around, and I think that what ever you put in to life you will get back out of life at some point in the future.
Employment / Experience Summary
I have been self employed for over six years. I am a general contractor and have built homes and have taken on plenty of other tricky projects. I only had a couple years of construction experience when me and my father started up our own Business. I guess one could say that I learn quickly when it comes to anything I want to do.
