The SENIOR-A class had sixteen riders going at it for six laps during the two hour morning Pro/A race. Lap one saw Steve Henson take control of the race, leading Cliff Perrell by eighteen seconds. Buster Yarbroiugh came through in third place, seven seconds ahead of fourth place rider Mitch Cockerham. Mark Wooters rounded out the top five. Completion of lap two had Steve Henson on the gas hard, pulling away, and increasing the lead to thirty six seconds over Cliff Perrell. Mark Wooters moved into third place, and lead forth place rider Buster Yarbroiugh by twenty seven seconds. Mike Hampton moved into fifth place, and chased by two seconds. Lap three had second place rider Cliff Perrell closing the gap on Steve Henson to thirty two seconds. Mark Wooters maintained third place, two seconds over hard charging Neal Hamilton. Merlin Pogson climbed into fifth place, and following by thirteen seconds. On lap four Cliff Perrell grabbed the lead, and gapped eleven seconds over Steve Henson. Neal Hamilton turned up the throttle, and landed into third place, leading forth place racer Merlin Pogson by fifty four seconds. Mike Hampton picked it up into fifth place, following by thirty two seconds. Lap five ended with Cliff Perrell picking up the pace, increasing the lead to twenty six seconds over Steve Henson. Mike Hampton slipped into third place, leading forth place racer Mitchell Hampton by one minute forty three seconds. Life seemed good for Tracy Fuller pulling into the top five. Six laps in and second place rider Steve Henson is staying strong, riding great, and flat out catching race leader Cliff Perrell, who now holds a gap of twenty seconds. Mike Hampton must like third place. In the end it was a great race with two different leaders, but it was Cliff Perrell taking the win, proving to be a just a little stronger, than Steve Henson, Mike Hampton, Mitchell Hampton, and Tracy Fuller.
Also, today we finished in the top 10 overall!
