How I got started

I used to be really into mountain racing and auto-x. When I turned 14, I knew I was getting my parents old Nissan Altima. So I was a big Nissan fan. While searching for Nissan racing videos on the internet, I found drifting. This was in 1997 or 1998 I think. I started going to auto-x around 14. I also had been to a few go-kart tracks, I really like it because I can push it there, and while being timed, see what driving styles work for me. I started going to every motorsport event I could. I went to all the car shows, drag races, track events. I couldn?t get enough. I bought my first 240 in high school, and did some events with that. I messed around on the street and got into a lot of trouble, what a big mistake.

Goals for the Future

I plan to do more competitions. I like rally and I like drifting, but I can?t afford to both, and I know I can go further with drifting. In a properly set up car, I could see myself placing very high at every event.

Describe your style...

My style is based on my personality. I just like to have fun. A lot of newer drivers are in it for the wrong reasons. Drifting is about having fun. If you watch the way I drive, I have fun. I always go out to put on a show and enjoy myself. Around the pits I am always goofing with friends and talking to interested fans. If I crash or don?t make it to the finals, I don?t get to down on myself. I?ve found if you take it easy you are more likely to be relaxed and that leads to better driving.

How's Life Treating You?

Not bad, I just moved to Huntington Beach to go to school. I like it here. I have had a few problems once getting up here, but I don?t let them stress me out.

Describe your ride...

My car is not special. It?s a Nissan 240sx that I drive it every day, and race every weekend. I had a nice DD but someone wrecked it for me. The car isn?t pretty, but I am working on it. With a few new sponsors, it is starting to come together; I just need a little more help with it. Even though it isn?t much to look at, it gets the job done.
