What inspires you to compete?
I am a naturally competative person. My entire life has evolved around school and sports. I think my athleticness and desire to compete runs in my family. My father played collegiate football, semi-professianal baseball, while my mother played division 1 field hockey in college. My grandfather raced motorcycles as well as go-karts with my grandmother. I have many goals that I want to achieve and I like to think of my family for inspiration to do well.
Why do you like this sport?
If I could do it everyday of my life I would. I love the speed, the jumps, the berms, the ruts, and everything. I enjoy being at the track even if that means getting up at 5 in the morning and seeing the familiar faces of my friends and competitors. This sport is my passion...
Some Personal Information About Me:
I enjoy playing sports. At one point in my life I played football, soccer, baseball, golf, wrestling, raquetball, and roller hockey in one year. As I entered high school I narrowed those sports down to baseball and golf. Actually, one of the reasons why I have only raced for a few years is golf. I persued golf as a way to get into college and I played on many different tours so I know what it takes to be competative. I was offered scholarships to play golf for multiple institutions but I decided that wasn`t what I really wanted to do. What I really wanted to do, and what I loved, was race.
Do you train? What does your schedule look like?
I have a workout schedule that I adhear to at least three times a week. Running and biking are included in my training. At the gym I go through a series of core exercises including abs, chest, and thighs. Periodically, I perform strength tests to make sure I am always impoving myself. Occasionally, I also play sports like volleyball, baseball, and raquetball for crosstraining.
