What has been your most embarrassing moment?
My most embarrassing moment at the track was when I was putting on my gear before my second moto. The guy who was parked next to our trailer congratulated me on my first moto victory and asked me if I was going to take the overall and win my second moto. I replied "I sure hope so!" I thought about what I said for a second, and nonchalantly knocked on our wood trailer. Thinking nobody saw me I looked around and noticed my dad videotaping me. I`m very superstitious.
Some Personal Information About Me:
I am in eleventh grade at Archmere Academy, a private Catholic College Prep. school in Delaware. I run cross country in the fall to keep me in shape for motocross, and play basketball in the winter. I bowl in our school?s intramural league, and our team won the championship last year. I got the award for the High Series Scratch Score (final score without a handicap) at the awards assembly. I also snowboard on the weekends at our local mountains during the winter. In the Spring I play softball and of course get ready for motocross season. My summers are devoted to motocross and working to pay all the expenses. I also love film editing and making movies. Every time we go riding we take our video camera to review what we need to work on. Instead of deleting our old recordings I save the good clips and make riding videos. You can check out my newest one in my video links. My screen name is CDoubleU464.
Do you train? What does your schedule look like?
I strength train on Monday, Wednsday and Friday (focusing on legs and core) and endurance train on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Music?
I love all types of music. From the Beastie Boys to The Who, I`ll listen to anything as long as it`s not Pop and overplayed on the radio. My all time favorite band is The Rolling Stones. On race days, 90% of the time I will be listening to my ipod. My pre-race, lucky playlist includes Outkast, Powerman 5000, The Beach Boys and The Killers.
Why do you compete?
I compete for the anxious feeling I get every time I think about landing a double perfectly, railing a corner or just throwing a leg over my bike. I lay up at night thinking about the upcoming race, and can`t fall asleep. I love the anticipation of my next race because I realize what every race day brings, progress. Even the best racer in the world will tell you they still have something to work on. I compete because I am addicted to progressing in the sport I truly have a passion for. There is always room for improvement and I can feel myself getting better every time I ride. I compete to excel.
