My dad and I left Ridgecrest Saturday morning at 9 AM and headed down the highway to Taft, CA. We were traveling down highway 99 when we heard a loud bang and my dad said a tire blew out on the trailer. He slowed and pulled off at the next exit which was road 119 to Taft. By the time we stopped both tires on the right side of the trailer were gone. We installed the spare and drove slowly down the road to a tire store. My dad had tires installed and we were on the road to Taft and we were about a half an hour away. We arrived just in time for the 12 o'clock practice. I did practice and really liked the course. After practice we set up camp and started prepping my bike. New rear tire, air filter change and checked for loose spokes. We went over the bike for any loose bolts and changed the oil. I stiffen the forks about three clicks. We were good to go. We visited with our friends the rest of the afternoon and on into the evening. My race started at 11:30 AM Sunday morning. I had drawn start position 4. Matt Henderson was 1, Caleb Gosiler was 2 and I was 4th. We took off 30 seconds apart and at the end of the first lap I was 3rd overall and 2nd overall on time. At the end of lap two I was 2nd over all and 1 minute and 23 seconds behind Caleb. This meant I was in 2nd. At the end of lap 3 I was only 50 seconds behind Caleb which meant I was in 1st because he started a minute ahead of me. At the end of lap 4 I was still in 1st with a 10 second lead. Lap 5 was still the same I was 10 seconds ahead. On the last lap I made a mistake and choose a bad line and this let Caleb get ahead of me on time and he won and I was 2nd. It was a close race and I had a great time. Dave Earl had laid out a good course. I can't wait till the next race these races are so much fun. Nick

I left early Thursday morning so I could ride practice at Glen Helen. We got to four corners (Kramer Junction) and the truck broke. We got towed to Victorville and the shop couldn’t fix it till Friday. My cousin and I spent the night in our trailer behind Victorville Motorcycle Center. Vito woke us up Friday morning and we hung out at his shop prepping my race bike. At 3 PM the truck was done and $1200.00 dollars later we were headed to Glen Helen. We got camp set up and went out visiting. Saturday morning I did some easy laps in the unclassified race. Around 10:30 AM I lined up for four stroke race. The banner dropped and I got a good start and was running 3rd. The course was fun and I finished 4th open expert. My day was over so cleaned up my bike and got it ready for Sunday’s race. I ate dinner with the Abbatoyes and went to bed early. Sunday I waited for my open expert race which started at 2 PM. I went to the start line at 1:30 and at 2 PM they informed us they were changing the course and the start was delayed till 3 PM. They changed the start to go up Mt. St. Helens. When the banner dropped I got the hole shot with Ryan Abbatoye right behind me. Up Mt. St. Helen we went one, two. I was riding really good and pulled away from the field. On the third lap I started taking it easy and finished ahead of the field in first place. This was my first time to win a Big Six GP. I was really stoked.
