How I got started

Three years ago was my first season riding and racing downhill and mountain cross. Basically when I started college, and was no longer playing high school sports, I missed having a sport in my life. When I was in high school I played just about everything. I didn?t really know gravity bike racing existed as something that I could compete in. Then one day I saw my buddies DH bike and pretty much decided on the spot that DH racing and riding was something that I wanted to start doing. Leading up to that I have been riding Mt. bikes my whole life and dirt bikes for the last 8 years. Also before I started bike racing I Ski raced for 8 years.

Goals for the Future

This next season is going to be a big year for me. I`m turning pro and I?ll be training as much a possible this off season to get ready for the upcoming year. Over the past three years I?ve been able to progress really quickly, and I plan on working even harder to keep up the progression track I?m on. I have goals of consistently placing top 50% in the national races and I want to finish top 20 in the series for both DH and MX/DS. In the Regional MSC races my goal is to get top 5 finishes and top 3 in the series. I?m going to keep having fun every time I ride my bike, and if all goes right ill start racing World Cups more often in the next few years. Along with other big races like the US open and Crankworx.

Bio

Some Personal Information About Me:

I was born and raised in the mountains west of Boulder Co. While I was growing up everything I did revolved around the outdoors. While other kids my age were playing video games my friends and I were out in the woods building bike tracks and jumps, fishing or exploring. I started riding bikes when I was two years old and to this day I still love to ride. I now live in Boulder Co where I attend CU Boulder (Graduating with a Marketing Degree Dec 06). I started racing downhill three summers ago and I think it is the best sport in the world. Most of the past two years were spent on the road, my little brother myself and a couple of friends cruzed around the country, and Canada riding and racing. We camped most everywhere we went, which I think is more enjoyable, and it helps conserve money so we have to work less and can ride more. I love getting away and doing nothing but riding all day. During high school I played in 4 Varsity sports, was captain of the ski team and made the All STATE team in skiing 4 times. I ski raced for 8 years, and ski racing is where I developed my passion for mountain sports and learned a lot about the competitive mental and training skills necessary to succeed in racing sports such as Downhill MTB. I am going pro this next season and eventually I will make a career out of this sport I love.
