2009 Summary

My 2009 Season

2009 Had its ups and downs. I had a few unfortunate dnf's in the beginning of the season. I started racing the first three National Enduro's, with good finishes. Won the Overall at a Mud and snow Scramble.  The first part of the ECEA series didn't go as planned, I was having trouble getting my enduro time keeping skills back up to par. I still managed good finishes. The ECEA Hare scramble series has been going well all year. Through the middle of the season, everything started coming together. And I started posting consistently better finishes. Being within striking distance of my first overall win. I finished 5th in the ECEA enduro series. By going to the ISDE in Portugal, where I suffered a severe concussion, I unfortunately missed 3 Hare Scrambles. I lost a few Positions in the overall standing and Finished 10th for the year.

   My 2008 season

My season started the end of January. I was on my motorcycle racing every weekend. I raced the National Enduro series in the 250A class. Also I have been racing the ECEA enduro and hare scramble series’ in the AA class. I have won the National Enduro title in the 250A class. I finished 7th in the ECEA enduro series, and 7th in the ECEA hare scramble series.

In September I was a member of the United States’ Junior World Trophy team at the International Six Day Enduro in Serres, Greece. Our team finished 12th, I finished with a silver metal in the E1 class.

My 2007 Season

I was a factory racer for Christini All Wheel Drive and was contracted to race the National Enduros. Along with this I was racing every off weekend doing local events. (Christini All Wheel Drive is the fully mechanical all wheel drive system.) Christini AWD was not as focused as I was on the racing side. I left them to pursue a better racing career and was riding a KTM250xcfw. I was still riding National Enduros along with ECEA hare scrambles and Enduros on the off weekends.
In July I raced the US GP Enduro, which was said to be the most difficult World Enduro in ten years. I finished 13th in class.
In October I was a member of the USA Junior World Trophy Team for the ISDE in Chile. Our team finished 6th. I finished with a silver metal in the E1 class.

My Family History in Off road Racing:

I have a very strong family background in off road racing. My Uncles are Chris Smith and Drew Smith. Drew has competed at the ISDE 20 times and has been the team manager almost every year since then. He has 6 gold metals and he is the owner of Works Enduro Rider (W.E.R.). Chris has competed in 9 six days and has 7 gold metals. He was on the Junior Team when they won the Junior Trophy at the ISDE in 1991. Chris was also one of the eleven people to make it into the night event at the Red Bull Last Man Standing in 2006. My Grandfather has been riding and racing all his life and at the age of 77 he still rides.
