Q&A - Favorites

  • Favorite Car: My old Volvo 2000 C70 Convertible
  • Favorite Magazine: Was Blender ; (
  • Favorite Movie: Xanadu
  • Favorite Trick: Not crashing. Actually when I was younger, my friend Missy and I would ride her brother's old BMX bikes. For some unknown reason, they never seemed to have any breaks. Missy and I thought we could impress the guys by "trick riding." She'd stand on the handle bars facing me, and I'd pedal down the large hill in front of my house. There was a pretty busy intersection at the bottom of that hill. Thank goodness we soon discovered boys who already had cars and we left the streets to the boys.

Q&A - Competition

How did you get started?

$5 bike and third family member add on just to practice led to my actually racing a couple of single point girls cruiser races. Haven't raced my ABA Novice number yet, but I have it for when the urge hits.

List your competitive highlights:

I have raced two races. One I raced in all motos and came in fourth. That took a bit of effort. The second one I discovered total points racing in a small group is good enough for me.

What are you planning for next season?

Race a bit. Buy more bikes and clothes. Expand my business.

What has been your biggest accomplishment?

Just doing it.

Q&A - Personal

Why do you like this sport?

I am more inspired by the process of participation; the clothing; the bikes; the stickers; the ability to have fun and participate in something healthy with my family; girl power; our amazing local track- Metroplex- with AC bathrooms and great nachos at the concession.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

I don't train much. I think I am going to start throwing in a parade lap here and there. I've always been big on parades. Usually just go to the track and hit the gate when it's my turn. I try not to crash and I put forth just enough effort to finish quickly enough not to delay the moto following mine by too many seconds.

Describe your style...

Coast! Coast! Coast! Total points race and enjoy the experience.

What inspires you to compete?

Not alot. I guess the need to get off my butt and to get my nose out of my book, magazine, iPhone, and get some exercise.

Employment / Experience Summary
