The 2008 Longhorn Ironman 70.3Q&A - Competition
How did you get started?
I started swimming competitively in High School, and running when I joined the Army (for training.) From there I picked up a cheap mountain bike, put all 3 together and gave it a shot!
List your competitive highlights:
3rd place Age group Honolulu Sprint Triathlon 2008 (11th overall)
2nd place Age Group Magic Island Biathlon 2008
1st place overall Kirkuk New Years 5k, 2007 (Iraq deployment)
Waikiki Roughwater 2.4 mile swim, finisher
Oahu Perimeter relay 18th overall
What are you planning for next season?
Longhorn Ironman 70.3 in October 2008
What has been your biggest accomplishment?
So far, just being able to compete in some real cool races

What inspires you to compete?
I really enjoy being out in nature and living life to the fullest. The sense of adventure and positive feeling of accomplishment keeps me coming back!
