How I got started

My brother got me started in 2003 with a fully sprung trail bike and I was hooked from there. In Summer of 2004 I went to Snow Summit and realized that DH would have to be in my future, but I decided to race Super D because that was what I was geared for. In November of 2004 I bought a Giant DH Team and would try my first dh race. Unfortunately, a mechanical prevented me from racing. That was my first time on a DH bike. From there I went on to buy another DH bike and started competing in January 2005 at the SRC Winter Series as a beginner. I placed top 3 in every race and took the title for my class and division.

Goals for the Future

Next season is now. Here is what I have planned:

- Move to the sport class for downhill in Spring `05 and deliver comparable results to Winter `05.

- By Winter `06 be in the expert class.

- Develop and engage a more rigorous on-the-bike fitness training regimen when daylight savings arrives.

- Compete in an increasing number of events. Specifically, I am targeting Sea Otter as well as Cal State and Norba events throughout the country.

- Compete in the Cal State Championship and Norba National Championship.

- Compete in more Super D races.

- Take on 4x.

- Get more involved in the industry by sharing certain off-the-bike skills.

- Continue to cultivate the sport of DH racing by getting more of my friends and family involved..

Bio

Some Personal Information About Me:

I am a web developer for a computer hardware company. I am also a student at the University of Phoenix. When I am not working or studying, I spend as many daytime hours as possible honing my riding skills and getting other people hooked on DH. When I`m not doing those things I spend time with my family and friends or maybe at the skatepark or fencing club. A little nightlife here and there is always in order, too.

Competitive Highlights

To date, getting 3 consecutive victories, winning the `05 SRC Winter Series title for my class/division, and not placing less than 3rd in it as my first DH series has been the biggest achievement. I had those goals in mind going into the series and I accomplished them. I also reached a level riding that I had set out for.

Getting 6th in Super D at Snow Summit was also quite good because the field was very tough and I was relatively inexperienced in racing and with that terrain.
