Saturday morning I woke up at 5am and headed to Phoenix to a really fun track called Speedworld. Speedworld really lives up to it name, it is a wide fast track with lots of tables and very few do or die doubles or triples. Sat. was a no membership race so I figured I would race 1 class just to get used to the track, alot of other 85 riders must have figured the same thing because we had 17 riders lineup at the gate for the first moto. My good friend Anthony was there so he also raced. The gate dropped and Speedworld has a cement starting pad that is real smooth, I was having a hard time hooking up and kept spinning my tire, I left the gate in about 4th or 5th. I passed a couple of riders in the first turn and when I went into the 2nd turn alls I felt was slam bam and the next thing I new some guy, and his bike landed right on me, he was big, I think he was 13 yrs old, I could not move him and it hurt. By the time I got situated the pack was long gone and my leg hurt pretty bad. I picked my bike up and pushed it back off of the track. My dad came running over and I was pretty upset, he said, "the only thing I can do is get better and move up in class faster riders usually wont take you out like that because they now how to hold a line. The 2nd moto started and I got about the same start, I started putting down some good laps and ended up 2nd for the moto and 5th overall. Sunday was the day that counted for me, I knew if I hope to win the EZ UP Series I need to place top 3 for the remaining 6 races. The first moto I got a good start and went into a whoop section in about 3rd place I was just off the left rear tire of my friend Anthony when out of no where I here some sort of panick rev and slam yep you guessed it taken out again, I never even saw it coming, I still cant figure out who did it, but I do know it caused a chain reaction and about 3/4 of the class went down. I ended up getting up and finished 5th for the 1st moto, my dad noticed 2nd place was on a CRF150 and those are not legal, sure enough the kid got disqualified and I moved up to 4th for the moto. The 2nd moto I did not get the start I wanted, I ended up really having to work hard but I managed to get all the way up to 3rd for the moto, which was my saving grace. The day ended with a 2nd place Trophy and I am getting closer to moving up in the points race. I think I passed at least 1 kid maybe 2. Next week is Verde Valley my favorite track in the state. A great big THANK YOU to all of my sponsors who truly help me keep racing.... Stay tuned see ya next week.
P.S. I also wanted to give a shout out to my friend Ian #33 who had a bad fall on Saturday and looked like he broke his collar bone. Get well soon Ian you will be missed at the track...

I woke up Sunday morning with a very sore throat and a slight fever, my dad asked me if I wanted to race? I told him I did and we loaded up and headed to the track. The weather was cloudy and breezy with a slight chill to the air, it seemed as if a storm was coming in. I lined up on the gate in my favorite spot, the gate dropped and I was off it like a flash, sure enough I nailed the holeshot all by myself, I settled down and started to get into my groove when out of nowhere my friend Ian passed me like I was standing still, that really shook me up. It was just 2 weeks ago when I had him covered both motos, where did he get this new speed? I tried to catch him but just did not have the energy to do it 1 other guy in my class got by me when I missed a shift in a easy corner. I ended up with a 3rd for the moto. I was pretty upset with myself but I knew I had 1 more moto to go and I sure wasn't feeling very good about it. I lined up for the 2nd moto and left the gate right next to my new nemesis Ian. We both headed towards the first corner and I had the line, for some reason I let off a little early and gave him the line, OUCH, I could have put him right over the high side of the berm, but after all he is my friend. Now the battle begins, I am not going to let him run away with this one I start putting down some good laps and I was able to keep Ian within sight but I just did not have the necessary speed today, I will say this I was not going to let anyone else by, the 252 bike that had slipped by on my missed shift went wide trying to get around me, I dug deep and refused to let him by, I stepped up onto this little step on step off section that he was not able to do. I think that was the straw that broke the camels back because I was able to gap him by about 5 bike lengths. I finished the moto with a 2nd and got 2nd overall. I am going to work really hard during the next 2 weeks and get the speed back that seemed to go away with the cold that settled in....Until next time..Once again I would really like to thank all of my sponsors who without your help I would not be doing as well as I am.

Jan 28th a day that I will never forget! Great weather, great friends, and great racing. 18 Beginners on the first gate of the day, both Beginner A and Beginner B, the gate drops and I get a ok jump, I round the first corner mid pack, I start picking riders off 1 sometimes 2 at a time, by the time the checkers come out I have worked my way up to 3rd place. I was happy. Now here is where it gets interesting, by the end of the first moto I had reeled in everyone in my class, the two riders ahead of me were bike lenghts in front, I knew if I could get a good start, I could win my first race. 2nd moto gate drops, I get a great jump and hit the first corner even with only 1 other racer, he dives to the inside, I decide to go wide and rail the outside of the turn, using the nice soft stuff to get a good drive and would you believe I was leading the race, this was my first time ever leading a race, it was a great feeling! I started picking my lines and trying to put down good consistent laps, just like practice, by the time I get 2 3/4 laps I am leading the whole pack by about 200yds, I couldn't believe it, that was the whole class including the Beginner A riders, of course thats when it happened, I lose a little concentration and you guessed it, I lose my front end in a little patch of mud, I jump up get back on the bike and now I am in 6th place, I pass 1 more rider to get 5th in the moto...... I know I can win this class, now I am mad. Stay tuned next race is Feb 11th, I will get revenge.... Alls I can say it was the funnest day of racing in my life...Thanks to everyone for all of the support!! Oh yeah I almost forgot, I went 4th and 3rd in the 80cc Mini Open class for 3rd overall. That was very fun, I was really happy with this result...

What a great day, I competed in the Mammoth Motocross in Mammoth AZ and went 3,3 for 3rd overall in the 80cc beginner class. My first moto the gate got stuck so I ended up getting a really bad start, I was able to make my way from last to 3rd, the second moto I got a decent start, I was all over 2nd place I just could not find a way around him, I noticed my riding shape is not where I would like it to be so as fatigue set in I toned it down and kept it on 2 wheels, for 3rd overall and a podium position. I really would like to thank all of my sponsors without your help I would not be near as competitive as I am..Thanks Again my next race is Jan 21, 2007.

Well I am gearing up for the 2007 race season, and I have been practicing every weekend so far. It seems like the break has helped, I know I am in really good shape, my cardio is excellent and I have improved on sections of the track that I could not do last year. It is exciting and I cant wait to race. Hopefully January 7th will be my first race....

What a great Thanksgiving holiday, we traveled to Las Vegas to compete in the Pig Skin bowl, we played 2 games and shut out both teams. Thanksgiving day we played a team from the San Diego area, they were the Otay Mesa Broncos, who were undefeated all season, it was a good game and we ended up winning 22 to 0. On Friday we played a team from Utah called the Raiders, they were not as good as the Broncos the final score was 54 to 0! We won the whole tournament, for the Pee Wee level. The trophy was over 6ft tall, each of the kids received a Gold Medal. Thats it for a very fun year of youth football, now its time to throw a leg over the 85 and start race season. I am very excited!

Oro Valley Dolphins 12 South Tucson Rams 8, How about that. We are the Tucson JR Pee Wee City Champs. It was a great game, we were able to shut the Rams out until late in the 4th quater. Boy were they ever suprised. They were very confident coming into the game, they had beat us 30 to 0 in our previous meeting. I will tell you this it was a very different Dolphin team they faced on Saturday. We were not prepared the first time we played, we were very prepared this time... Now we go to Phoenix next weekend to play for the AZ State Jr Pee Wee Championship...... It feels Great!!!

How sweet it is. It was a great game, the Cowboys played tough. The final score was 13-6. We were tied with 45 seconds left in the game. We got the ball back on our 15 yard line. We started throwing the ball deep. We had 3 deep passes for 80 yards. The final play of the game was a 5 yard screen pass it was our receiver going up against 2 Cowboys he faked like he was going to cut it inside and it froze the defenders, he was able to sprint into the corner of the end zone!!! This was by far the best game we played all season. Now we get to play the Rams again for the City Championship game. I guarantee you it will be a different game this weekend.

Well, we ended up losing to the Rams on Saturday, it really sucked. It really seemed like we made to many mistakes and the Rams were really good. I think we should get to play them again in the championship game. The kids on my team really thought we were invincible, I know though motocross racing that you have to give 100% every game you play. I also know that a loss is not the end of the world, usually you get to make up for a loss the next time you play or race again. Sometimes a loss gives you more determination to win. Hopefully that will happen with our team, we have a playoff game this Saturday, then if we win we play in the city championship the next week. Stay tuned I will let you know how it goes.
