Yes folks, it has finally happened. I broke my left Clavical and am officially finished with my season.
That's the breaks! HAHAHA! I broke it on Sunday, Oct 15th while chasing my 10 year old daughter around my Dad's field on TTR-125's. She lost the rear. I did everything wrong. I target fixated on her rear wheel. I grabbed WAY too much front brake. I flew over the bars and did a real nice job of breaking it. THANKFULLY I didn't run her over.
Unfortunately I am out for fall riding and I miss the season finale endurance race. FORTUNATELY I'll be healed in time for ICE!!!!!!! :-) I guess I was due for a 'break' in the action. I know, bad puns. But in the end we were having SUCH a great time. And fun is the name of this game.
My most fond memory of this entire incident is in the triage room at the ER....My daughter proudly displays her scar from her broken elbow last year. The triage nurse suggests we should find a different hobby. My daughter sits up straight, sparkles in her eyes and a HUGE smile replies with "No Way! It's too much fun! It's worth the risk!" The nurse smiled and shook her head....yes, my daughter is addicted. It's such a beautiful thing to see!
Keep riding folks! AND HAVE FUN!!!! :-)
