Goals for the Future

Focusing on developing young talent in the Southeast into an organized, focused group of racers. Focus on developing their kowledge of earning sponsorship, not just getting it.

Bio

What inspires you to compete?

I love speed, competition and hanging out with buddies. I live to be in the woods and racing DH gives me a fantastic high competing against the clock. Plus, I grew up on a dirt road and have never ridden anything but knobby tires...BMX, Moto, MTB...

Some Personal Information About Me:

I`m 32 , a father and husband and have raced DH for 11 years for the sheer love of it. I race for SEI Racing and we have always represented our sponsors more professionaly and with more sincerity than any other team. We all do it for the love of it. Most of our sponsors, we have kept for over 5 years now and have fantastic relationships with, sometimes helping them in the pits at Nationals.

Describe your style...

Like a motorcycle without an engine, I just try to go faster and faster. I love to plow through stuff and slide in a 2 wheel drift, on the edge and pinning it. If I get bored, I goof off and chat with spectators trailside...

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

I do 2 XC rides per week on trails on my hardtail. Sprints 2 days per week on my DH bike on flat to gradual decline. Gate starts Monday nights DH practice/shuttles on Saturday/ Sunday for 3-6 hours.

Do you like to travel? What's your best (clean) road trip story?

I love traveling to new venues, new towns and states. Best road trip story - August 2002. 4 guys in a Toyota 4Runner for 14 hours straight driving to Vermont NORBA National. $ guys with everything in common who spend every weekend riding together going to the National finals. We had a great time taking turns abusing one another verbally for a full week. We fed off each other`s intensity the whole week, tuning bikes, checking out lines, freight training down the course. It was fantastic.
