My Teams

About me...

Hey, My name is Brandon Barto. I am currently a 14 expert living in Austin Texas. I race BMX and It has been my passion for the last 3 years. In my spare time I ride freestyle, hang out with friends and family, and chill at home. I have many goals that I work towards every day, and my determination pushes me to progress every time I ride. I represent myself, my teams and sponsors, and the entire sport of BMX. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to leave me stuff, and check out my profile.

Q&A - Self Interview

How long have you been racing?

3 years as of summer 2008.

How did you get started?

I started ridding BMX at 10 years old when my dad bought me a Specilized dirt jumping bike which weighed close to 30 lbs at the time. Before that I was going to the skate park once a week as an inline skater. When I heard about a "bike night" every tuesday from 7:00 to 10:00, me and my dad got curious and tried it out. After about half a year the local riders stared seeing me down there alot so they tried helping me out with some things. At the time Chase Hawk a current pro riding for Fit Bikes, and living in Austin Texas started talking to me about heading down to the race track. He said that practicing at a place called Capitol City BMX would help with skills and strength that beginning riders needed. It sounded fun but I wasen't convinced, not yet. I didn't want to waste my time going to some place with little dirt hills and believe it was going to get me doing backfips at the X-Games. But one night my parents decided to take me down to the track just to see what it was like. I fell in love at once. But I didn't know how to get started. Lucky one of my friends in the neighborhood had a friend that was a former pro racer. We took a trip out to the track with him one practice day and he helped with many of the basics. By the end of the day my dad asked me if I wanted to sign up. Without any hesitation I said "Of course so!"

Why do you like racing?

The People I've met, and the excitment of every time I ride my bike. The Competetion, and Challenge of riding against fast people in my class. And helping others with skills.

Who are your favorite racers?

Kyle Bennet, Randy Stumpfhauser, Robert De Wilde, Shanaze Reade, Dad.

Who are some people you would like to thank?

Dad, Mom, Jim Foxx with UC, everyone at Capitol City BMX, the San Antonio crew, The Matthews family, Scot Fayard, The Lake family, The Brysons, and The Nicely's.
