This past weekend I decided to attend a dirt track TT race at the Lodi Cycle bowl in Lodi CA on Saturday night and a mini road race in Stockton CA on Sunday. We got to the track at around two O’clock and practice started around four O’clock. For some reason they didn’t let th 85’s and the 150’s go out for a long time. Finally when practice started I just checked out the track a little bit for the first session. In the second session we dropped a couple pounds of pressure in the rear tire. I felt pretty good in the second session and I felt that I was up to a race speed. I was racing my practice 85 in two classes - the 85 class and the 150 mod class. In the 85 class heat race they put us with the 60’s. They started us all on the front row and I was starting I fifth. In the first corner there was one 60 in front of me but I went around him on the out side. I led all four laps and came across the finish line in first. My next race was the 150 mod class. I started first in my class. They started my class and the two other classes on the front row. I was in second but easily got around the rider in front of me on the outside. I started to pull away and led all four laps. I won both heat races. After my second heat race I took off all of my gear and watched the rest of the heat races.

In the mains I was race number 1 and 5. In the 85 class I didn’t have that much competition. I got the hole shot and led all six laps. I won the main event. In the 150 mod class I had a little more competition. There were about four restarts because people kept on jumping the start. When we finally got started I was in second. On the second lap I passed the rider in front of me on the outside in turn one. I led the rest of the laps but I could still hear the rider behind me right on my tail. I won both of my main events. We didn’t stay for trophies because we had to get to the hotel to get a good night sleep for the mini road race in Stockton on Sunday.

I got a pretty good sleep and I was ready for the race. We got to the track in Stockton and unloaded all of the bikes and got them ready. I only got two eight minute practice sessions so I wouldn’t have that much time to figure out the track. I felt pretty good on my NSR by the time the first race came around. I was racing my NSR in three classes, the NSR cup, Mini GP, and the Mini GP youth. My first heat race was the NSR cup. I was starting on the second row in fifth. I got a good jump and was in second. On the first lap I passed the rider in front of me around the outside. The rider in second was holding up my competition and I started to pull away. Once my competition got around the rider behind me they started to catch up to me. On the eighth and final lap I was in first. I came across the finish line in first position. My next heat race was the pro GP on my 150. I was starting on the second row in seventh row in seventh position. I got a good start and was in third in the first corner. On the second lap I got around one of the riders in front of me. On the second lap in the last corner my rear end lost traction and I was sliding on my butt. I got up as fast as I could and someone jumped over the fence and started my bike for me. I got back on the track and was in last. On the last lap someone else had crashed so I finished second to last. My next race was the Mini GP. I was starting in sixth position. I got a good start and was in fourth. I got by the rider in front of me and was in third. The two riders out front were to far out front to catch up to. I finished third. My fourth race was the Mini GP youth. I was starting on the front row this time in fourth. I got the hole shot and led all eight laps with second and third close behind me. I won the heat race. My next heat race was the pro extreme on my 150. I was starting on fifth. When we went into the first corner I hit the rider in front of me. I fell off of my bike and while I was sliding on my back I got run over across my left shoulder. His bike landed on top of me and the motor was revved up. His back tire was spinning on my leg and tore through my leathers and put a burn on the inside of my right knee. My big toe was also hurting on my right foot. We went back to my trailer and the EMT poured some water on my knee. He told us to go to the emergency room to get checked out. When we went to the emergency room I got an x ray on my toe and on my shoulder. The doctor told me that I had a broken big toe and a shoulder contusion which is a bruise. They cleaned my knee up and I headed home. I have an appointment on Wednesday for the doctor to check everything out and so I can make sure that I can race at Prairie City this weekend. I would like to thank the doctors that helped me out and every one who helped after I crashed.
