This past holiday weekend kicked off the opening round of the 2009 Lucas Oil Motocross Championship series at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino California.

AXO backed Valli Motorsports debut their newest addition to the Motorcycle world of racing with an outdoor team consisting of two very likable riders Seam Hamblin and Jimmy Albertson to compete in the Motocross Class (450) this summer. Both Hamblin and Albertson put their Yamaha YZ450F in the show respectably with strong first Moto rides, but unfortunately for Sean in the second Moto he sustained a nasty crash that ended his weekend prematurely. Jimmy on the other hand was able to pull a 20th overall and gain some points heading into the next race. In addition to the Valli Motorsports Outdoor team its WORCS riders Bobby Bonds, Bobby Garrison and Kyle Summers came out for a change of pace to try their hand at some outdoor Motocross. For Bobby Garrison his weekend ended early as he was unable to get seated in his timed qualifier which sent him home. For the other remaining two WORCS riders Bonds and Summers they were able to make the moto’s but unfortunately for Bonds his bike was unable to finish as he ran into some motor issues and Kyle was the proud recipient of the Muscle Milk Hard Charger award.

The Women’s Motocross Association (WMA) was also on hand at Glen Helen for the opening round of their series. AXO’s own Sherri Cruse put in two very impressive Moto’s Saturday and was able to capture that 3rd spot on the podium, amongst the fastest women on the planet.

AXO America is pleased to announce that the newly formed Valli Motorsports Outdoor Race Team featuring Sean Hamblin and Jimmy Albertson will be joining the AXO family and use the 2009 collection of gear, gloves and protection. Both Valli Motorsports riders will compete in the 2009 Lucas Oil Motocross Championship series in the highly competitive 450 Class aboard the potent YZ450F Yamaha. “It’s awesome to have both Hamblin and Albertson join the AXO America family”, “AXO is already enjoying the relationship with the Valli Motorsports WORCS Team so we see this as a solid step to showcase the gear to the fans who will attend the Nationals this Summer.”  We know both Hamblin and Albertson have the ability to run up front and are eager to see how this season will unfold.” said John Simanovich Director of Motorsports,

My name is Tom and I would like to say thank you. Yesterday I was riding my dirtbike at the track in Lake Elsinore (Lake Elsinore Motocross Complex) and when I went over one of the jumps I got a little sideways and the rear end of the bike swaped when I hit the ground. The bike went one way and I went the other. Total crash landing. As I was trying to get up another rider behind me came over the same jump not knowing I was on the ground and hit me head on. I was on my hands and knees trying to get up and out of the corner of my eye I see a bike. Both wheels completely ran my helmet over. My head just smashed the ground. First it hit my shoulder then my head. I have been wearing the same helmet for a couple of years now. It is an AXO helmet. I think it's the RX 5 model. If not for that helmet I would be dead right now. That helmet saved my life!!!! I walked away with a broken hand, some tire tracks across my shoulder and some major scrapes and bruises with a shit load of pain. My face has a huge scrape under my right eye from the gogles which were filled with blood. The helmet is ruined now because of the huge gouge from the bike running over my head but, thats ok cause I'm alive and the helmet did it's job. I will always recomend AXO and continue to buy your products.

Thanks again and keep up the good work. Your helmet saved my life.

                                                                          Sincerly yours,

                                                                           Thomas Palasciano
