This past holiday weekend kicked off the opening round of the 2009 Lucas Oil Motocross Championship series at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino California. AXO backed Valli Motorsports debut their newest addition to the Motorcycle world of racing with an outdoor team consisting of two very likable riders Seam Hamblin and Jimmy Albertson to compete in the Motocross Class (450) this summer. Both Hamblin and Albertson put their Yamaha YZ450F in the show respectably with strong first Moto rides, but unfortunately for Sean in the second Moto he sustained a nasty crash that ended his weekend prematurely. Jimmy on the other hand was able to pull a 20th overall and gain some points heading into the next race. In addition to the Valli Motorsports Outdoor team its WORCS riders Bobby Bonds, Bobby Garrison and Kyle Summers came out for a change of pace to try their hand at some outdoor Motocross. For Bobby Garrison his weekend ended early as he was unable to get seated in his timed qualifier which sent him home. For the other remaining two WORCS riders Bonds and Summers they were able to make the moto’s but unfortunately for Bonds his bike was unable to finish as he ran into some motor issues and Kyle was the proud recipient of the Muscle Milk Hard Charger award. The Women’s Motocross Association (WMA) was also on hand at Glen Helen for the opening round of their series. AXO’s own Sherri Cruse put in two very impressive Moto’s Saturday and was able to capture that 3rd spot on the podium, amongst the fastest women on the planet.
