Hey all, its been about five months since my last blog and a lot has been going on with me.  Check it out (in no particular order):

- Got sick and wasnt able to ride for about a month.

- Started riding "regularly" around March, but could not finish a damned race due to my lack o fitness.

-April more of the same, started coming around, then went into overtraining syndrome.

- Three weeks later started riding "regularly" again but this time using more smarts in my programming.

-Finished my first race in May

-Top 20 in a local crit (good confidence booster)

- Mid field finishes over Memorial Day crit series in the DFW.

- Break-away on the Training race/ride finished 6th.

See the trend yet?  The fitness is coming!

Here we are 2009 is now upon us what this means to me is put up or shut up.  There are a lot of dreamers out there in the world, some just talk the talk and some walk the walk.  Last year, (i will be brutally honest with you all and most importantly to my self) i talked a whole lot!  Dont get me wrong last year was a good year for me lots of top 5s and hardware from races but was it the best i could do?  No.  I look back and realized  that i completely half-assed it.  What i mean by half-assing i mean every thing from training to racing.  This year I have challenged my self to "put up or shut up".  No more talking big dreams, but better yet commit to my dreams.  I look at it this way, i see all the people that are where i want to be, how did they get there?  They walked the walk.    So my challenge to my self is to just do it and let others talk MY talk.  I make that challenge to anyone who reads this.

Peeps,

So i decided to nix cross (too much ground contact on my part) and now im back on the road putting in the base mileage.  Heres a preview of the 09 Training log/race calendar.

Hasn't been much activity here in blog land because things have kinda been in a lull.  Well Here are some current happenings:  I took 2nd place overall in the Cat 4 class in the Crcc series, and had a nasty little crash this past sunday.  The State road race is supposed to be Sunday but it seems that my friend Ike is going to pay me a visit and possibly keep me from attending my last "A" race of the year.   My training has been great lately I have been riding like there is no chain on my bike and its great.  Now if only I could get the opportunity to "flex" all this strength on suday it would be great!  Thats all i got peeples! Stay tuned for more.

I would like to report a robbery....my sprint got stolen and i will pay anyone to give me any information of its where abouts!!!!! *&%$#@!

All i know is that in may i was panicing about not being in Crit shape.  But i did some self assessment with the help of Joe Friels book and i am becoming hella strong and hella fast!  I have now reached the points requirement to race at the cat 3 level.  Although i could upgrade now it would benefit me to stay a 4 through this season upgrade at the end and then implement some intense training for the spring classics.  Stay tuned SUCKAS!

This year is moving to fast for me...its already May and the Crit season is in full swing!  Problem is my condition is not.....time for more training.

That may be a question that you have been asking yourselves if you read my blogs at all.  Well the answer is training!  AFter Fayetteville i learned that there is no point to go race if your going to settle for mediocracy!  One everything comes out of my pocket and the sport is not cheap by far!  Two lately i have been settling for a mid field or a top 20 finish, not anymore, i work too hard and suffer too much to just settle!  So therefore i have decided that increasing my fitness and strength is more important that just "surviving" a road race.  I hope others understand what i am saying and maybe take these words into consideration whenever they are preparing for thier next event.  Anyone can pay a fee and hop on a bike and ride it for 3-4hrs but it takes someone more dedicated to want to win!
