Challenging myself. Pushing my limits.
I'll keep you posted.
I've got so many amazing road trip stories from 2007. Our first real bike trip of the year was probably camping up in Idyllwild with the SoCalTrailriders.org crew for our first group riding with them. Met some great people, did some great rides. For Memorial Day I set up a trip to SW Utah. We had a group of 12 like-minded people out riding bikes. We went up to Downieville for the MTBR Summer Kick-Off Gathering and had a blast representing So Cal. Then Kernville with a small group. Then there was Whistler with Ann & Andy. What could be better than that? Two trip to Mammoth, and probably my favorite trip of the year... SW Utah again with 7 great people. We rode Gooseberry day one, then hit up the Brianhead lifts, shuttled Bunker Creek. Day three we shuttled Blowhard and Dark Hallow. Rode Thunder Mountain before heading home on Labor Day. Great people. Great trails. Lots of fun, lots of beers. Too many smiles and laughs to recount.
Ideally... Monday: shoulder work out in the gym. Tuesday: road bike, core exercises at home Wednesday: road bike or mountain bike, chest/triceps in the gym Thursday: road bike, back/biceps in the gym Friday: off Saturday: long ride either for training or for fun (or lately, XC race pace riding) Sunday: shorter ride for training or fun
The ability to see more terrain in a day than by hiking.. getting out in the mountains (even if locally) where there are other people out trying to enjoy nature... getting away from traffic and over-crowding. The sights. The people I've met. Love you guys. Seriously.
