Overview

How I got started

I've been a cyclist and a runner for many years.  Then someone at work said I should try doing a triathlon as they were training for one through Team in Training.  I figured what the heck and signed up.  Since then I've been hooked!!!

What inspires you to compete?

Being a competitor is what I am about. Going out and "taking it easy" just doesnt happen with me. If I go out I give it 110%. I love the feeling of competing no matter what I am doing. That same drive has also helped me to be very sucessful in my professional career. I never settle for anything and I get very bored when I achieve something and want to go and achieve more.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

I train about 5 days a week.  I get up early and head to the gym around 5 or 6 and swim about 2500 yards and then after work I'll do about 25-30 miles on the bike and then a 10k.

Employment / Experience Summary

I am currently a Network Architect. I am basically a freelance consultant but I am currently working with a client for the next year. I work primarily with Microsoft applications such as Windows 2003 Server, Active Directory, and Exchange 2003. I do venture into older and different technolgies though, usually when working on a migration project.

Competitive Highlights

I have finished on the podium all but 2 times this year.  I also have 1 overall Half Ironman win as well as an age group win at an Olympic distance.
