Overview

How I got started

I got my first bike when I was 11, a Honda XR100. After less than a year I was so hooked on riding that I knew that I had to race. I got a 2000 YZ 80. I practiced a lot at local tracks until I got pretty good. I started racing in 2002. I moved up to a YZ 125 and loved the bike. I grew so fast that I started to think that I needed a bigger bike, my Dad had an "03 YZ250 that he rode just for fun and I took it and started riding that and the 125.  I really loved the YZ 250. I got a new 2005 YZ250 and continued to ride both classes doing pretty good . The problem came when, at 6`3" and 175 lbs I just could not be competitive with the lighter, smaller kids in the 125 class. I reluctantly gave in to the 4 stroke 250F because they had more to offer in the 125 class.  I did become more competitve in the 125 class again, but honestly I was having more fun on my 2 stroke 250.I love the YZ250!

Goals for the Future

2006 was not a great year for me. As many riders go through, I have had a year filled with injuries. I spent most of the year in casts, I came back to racing in 2007 on a limited basis and have done as good as I had hoped for.  I have a job with FLMX magazine as a Photographer and writer, so that keeps me busy with that and racing.
My goal for this next year is to train hard and most important, stay healthy, improve my finishes from last year. I hope to make it to Loretta`s again this year.  I plan on attending Ponca City this year also.
I plan to race the Florida and Georgia series to gain more race experience on different tracks. I know that I will have to work even harder in the 2008 season to qualify for Loretta Lynn`s in 250 B.
I have really stepped up my training routine and diet .I see a huge difference in my riding now that I have become really serious about my diet and training.

I plan to represent my sponsors in 2008 by being up front in all of my moto`s, and being a good role model for the other riders and for my sponsors who have been great to me.

I have taken a real interest in making my riding much safer by researching the latest safety gear.  I have added the Leatt neck brace to my "must wear" items.  It is a great product and I wish that everyone would wear one.  I have had a friend paralyzed and it has been so hard to see him going through it that I want everyone to take whatever precautions that you can to lessen the chance of a spinal injury.  We all know this sport is brutal, but you can lessen the chance of injury by buying the right equipment.  I am proud to wear the Leatt neckbrace and encourage other riders to try one at the track.

Bio

Why do you like this sport?

It is hard to put into words the rush that you feel when you set a goal and work hard to acheive it and you become so in tune with your bike that you feel that you are one in the same on the track. I have tried other sports and did well at them, but I just have a love for this sport and the great people that I have met racing around the US.

Some Personal Information About Me:

I am 18 years old and just graduated from High School in May 2006.   I started college in the fall.  I just recently got a great job with FLMX Magazine here in Florida as a photographer and writer.   I live for racing, but I love to hang out with my friends and do other sports like jet skiing and wakeboarding and living on the East coast of Florida, I like to surf and skim board.

I live by the motto. Hardwork beats talent...when talent doesn`t work hard.

Effort=Sucess

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

My training schedule is Mondays after racing I try to give my body a little rest by only running 2-3 miles and only do light strength training. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays I increase my workout to 3-4 miles running and working with weights. Saturday before the race I try to work on being positive and get my mind focused on the race.

Music?

I love a lot of different types of music. I am open to different styles, from country to alternative to hard rock, even classic rock from the 70`s and 80`s. I listen to it all. I don`t want to limit myself to just one type. That would be so boring

How's Life Treating You?

I have the greatest life that anyone could ask for. I just graduated from Hiigh school and have lots of friends that we do lots of goofy things together, like making stupid videos, trading pictures on Myspace and Sponsorhouse and hanging out together. I get to ride almost everyday and live within minutes of the lake for knee and wakeboarding and within a few minutes of the beach. I live in Florida where you can do sports all year long. I have parents that support me in everything that I do. My Dad is a former racer, so he is my biggest inspiration and helps me with my racing. He is the best mechanic. My Mom is my biggest fan and gives 100% to both me and my twin sister. I have the best life I could ever imagine.

Competitive Highlights

The biggest highlight in my career would be qualifing to go to Loretta Lynns.  I did not finish where I had hoped, but to just be one of the few who can say that they even had the chance to go  is really cool to me.

I raced my first big race at Gatorback in 2002 and at least qualified with 80 bikes signed up. I finished upper middle of the pack. Hey, at least I wasn`t dead last!
I race the Gold Cup , Winter AM and the Mini Olympics, Florida Series .
I broke my wrist twice and my leg in 2006 so I could not attend my qualifiers or regional this year for Lorettas.
