DH riding and BMX racing on vacation

Well I spent the last week in Dallas, TX with the family on vacation.  A far cry from the "DRY" desert heat we have in Las Vegas.  On tuesday I had the opportunity to go ride some DH in Dallas.  Yes I said DOWNHILL in Dallas!!  As flat as Dallas is they do have a hill that is pretty awesome.  Cedar Hill as a matter of fact, is its name.  Nestled in between the trees are some XC loops and a short but O'so sweet DH with several wood features and drops.  You start off on a twisty section of one of the XC loops that is fairly steep and shoot off onto a LARGE wooden platform that leads to a drop of about 8' or so.  Then after a quick turn you hit another  wood platform that has a good drop into some steep stuff leading into a large wood berm, a few dirt jumps lie between here and the next wood feature.  Actually choice of wood features here,  there are two to choose from.  And it goes on from there.  The Dallas riders are doing a great job with what they have and they are far from done here.  They have more features planned as well as a pump track and more going into this site.  Be sure to check them out at www.dorba2.com.

Now onto BMX.  Its been a while since I have since I have ridden the "little bike" as I call it, since I have been on the MTN bike so much lately.  The friends we stayed with while in Dallas sold their motocycles and have been for some time now trying to show their kids BMX.  So I thought what a perfect time for me to go visit Desoto's Metroplex BMX track (something I have been wanting to do for a long time) and introduce our friends kids to BMX.  Lets say it was a HUGE success.  I placed 3rd for the night in some good racing and had a great time riding Metroplex's awesome facility.  But most of all I showed the kids a good time and added some new riders to ABA's membership.

Got something to say?
