Ok, i did the biggest ride of my life (so far). I went 100 miles in 5 hours. About 3 miles of the 20 mile loop was flats, the rest : whoops. I did 5 loops. it ended up taking 6 hours with pits and everthing because my average lap time was 45 minuets.

Thats about it besides this ride made me very sore, helped by biseps look bigger, and it made me realize i need to get in shape. Oh, I only went down once!! That's because I hit a sandbar in the middle of the whoppy trail and ended up side swapping to a stop. I'm ok though. I didn't even hit the ground that hard.

Race Report for Nov.3-5/ End of year report.

Hi there!

Well this race winds up the season. It was a WORCS race at Mesquite, NV. I had a good time there. That race was also my last race as a beginner. Next year every series I race I will be a junior (in WORCS case a “B” rider).

Anyway, back on track now. So, 2-3 weeks before this race I practice a lot of off-road stuff to get ready for this race. Then when I get to the race I’m all pumped up ready to do well. Then, after my first lap, I find out I’m doing not even a 1/2 of a mile of off road and they combined 2 tracks. Hey, I was happy; I got to go up the hill. So, long story short I was upset that I did all that MX when I went there to race off-road. In the end, I finished 13th and 32OA, I finished 58th in class for the year as did my dad in his 40+vet’C’class and his Open ‘C’ class. So now were the flying 58’s!

I missed some races this year because of my broken arm. I am confident that I would have done better in the overalls had I been healthy all year. I only got to do 3 WORCS and 3 WWN and missed most of the TAX races, but in the TAX series I finished 11th overall for series 1 and in series 2 I finished 3rd overall, and the final standing for the year tied for third. In Wild West I finished, well… we don’t know where I finished overall (yet) because after my last Wild West race, thier website disappeared and hasn’t been back up on the net yet.

Next years plans are to hit more WORCS races because I seemed to be faster off-roading so were going to see how that works out. We’ll still be doing some Wild West races. We also are planning on running some desert races too. I will be campaigning both the 85 Junior (or B) class and the Supermini (B) classes in WORCS and WWN, 85 Junior and 125 Beginner or Junior classes in TAX as they don’t have a Supermini class. In the desert I will run one of the mini classes. I am not sure at this time which one.

As I write this, me and my dad and my mom are in debate as to whether we will be using Sponsorhouse next year as we are not sure as it was that big a benefit to me. But I will be trying MXResults.com next year. I will keep you all informed. My resumes will be going out next week. Sorry they’re late, school and all, you know. I want to thank you all again, for supporting me this past year. I hope I have provided you with a good representative in myself and that I have promoted you adequately.

I hope to see you all next year on my sponsor list.

            Thank You

Hello All, here is my race report for September.

September 8th:
WOOHOO!!!! Almost to the emergency room again! During practice I tried blitzing the whoops because they were really easy. Now imagine these woops as pretty much flat on the side you ride into, and real steep on the back side. They were way too easy, but I got careless and went “rodeo style” and hit the ground hard knocking the wind out of me. My class didn’t get to practice the whoops because I didn’t move for a few minutes. During the race I did blitz the whoops, but poor starts in both motos held me back. I finished 4th over all for the night.

September 29th:
OK, I know I missed 2 races, but they were rained out. And not just a little rain, a down pour. One race, the crew had watered the track in the morning like usual and then in the afternoon it started raining and by race time the track was a quagmire of mud. The other race it rained the day before, race day and the day after. The track was a marsh lake. Well this race….It was…real fun. Because it was a non-points race, my dad let me race the next class up (as I will be running the Junior class next year). Now I thought I was fast, but those guys are fast, F-A-S-T. I rode my butt off, hit the corners harder and faster, jumped farther and hung it out in the whoops (which were rebuilt) than I ever had before. I pushed the hardest I have ever pushed in a TAX race before. I finished 5th both motos for 5th OA for the night, but I only beat one other rider. The field was light due to it being a non-points race. I worked hard and had a lot of fun at this race. There was no pressure to podium and I enjoyed it immensely. The Tooele Arena Cross series is finished for the year. Series 1 I broke my arm and finished 10th. Series 2 I put myself in the emergency room a few times and finished 3rd. I tied for 3rd for the Over All for the year. I picked up 6 trophies this year bring my count to16. I have one more WORCS race at Mesquite, NV if my dad can get off work to take me. If not, see you next year.

Race update for Walker Andreasen #888j/809

August 18, 2006 – Tooele Arena Cross
August 19, 20 2006 – Wild West Nationals
August 25, 2006 – Tooele Arena Cross

Well it’s been awhile, Sorry. In August I only had 4 races, and I had mixed results and even put myself back in the emergency room again. I’m working on my consistency and have even been working with a local pro at the track. He has sort of taken me under his wing, so to speak. But living 60 miles apart makes it hard to get together to train. Anyway, to the races…

18Aug06 – I don’t remember too much about this race, It was too long ago. Sorry. My dad has told me and still tells me to write down what happened so I can put it in my reports to you all. But I keep forgetting. I’m going to do better. I finished 5th and 2nd for a 3rd Over All.

19Aug06 – This wasn’t a very good race for me. But it did have some good points. Moto 1 I was 1st to the first turn and came out 3rd. It was a very good start I thought and I was happy with it. But I didn’t push and by the end of my 1st lap I was almost last. I don’t know what was in my head, but when I came by the pits and saw my dad giving me encouragement (he thought I went down) I put my head down and worked my way back through the pack to 12th. Moto 2 I pulled the hole shot. Yep, I did it. 1st to the first turn and 1st out. I was so excited that I tired very fast and road tight. I ended up 11th for the moto and 11th Over All for the day.

20Aug06 – This day was a little better. Moto 1 I again got the hole shot and again road tight and tired fast and finished 9th. Moto 2 was a lot better, I didn’t just pull the hole shot, I waxed them to the first turn, and led for most of the first lap. I was trying to stay calm, but made a mistake and was past. I held on to 3rd for a lap then made the same mistake in the same corner and was dropped to 5th. I held 5th to the end and finished 8th Over All. I was pleased with that moto.
At this point many of the riders came up to me and asked what engine mods I had done, I told them none, I just put on an FMF Fatty and Shortly and VForce reads. Some of them told me that they had theirs’ ported and couldn’t figure out how come I was hole shotting them. They then told me that they were in 4th gear pinned for the whole start straight. I thought, but didn’t say, that’s dumb, you’re in 4th before you even get half way. I was in 6th pinned by the time I got to the 1st turn, that’s how I pulled the hole shots. I just passed them on the way.

25Aug06 – Happy Birthday to ME. On this night I turned 13 years old. Yay!!! In 3 years I can legally drive a car. So anyway, I had a good racing experience. Even though I had to go to the ER for the 4th time, it was a fun race. In the first moto (and the 2nd, so my dad tells me) there was a kid on a KX100. {Note from dad – In the TAX series there is no supper mini class. We have big wheel Honda’s and Suzuki’s and registration didn’t know it was a 100} We each got good starts, but he got the hole shot. I almost got tangled up in the 2nd corner but I slipped to the outside of the mess and held onto 2nd. After the 1st lap, we had a huge lead and were after each other. I’d blitz the whoops and pass him, but he’d get me back after a couple of corners. Finally the last lap I held onto first. It was the last corner, when on exiting the corner, I was leaning to far over the bars and I lost control and got out of shape as I was really leaning over the handle bars. I hit the first jump of a very small double and it pitched me over the bars, classic flying “W” I’m told. As the bike hit the 2nd jump, I took a handle bar to the gut and “racked” myself on the gas cap. By the time I got back up and got started I finished 8th. Now, you might think “no big deal, he’s a wimp thinking he has to go to the hospital” Well by the time the 2nd moto came around I couldn’t walk, let alone ride. How bad was it? Let me just say that I spent the rest of the week end and most of the next week with an ice pack in my crotch. I finish 12th Over All for the night with only one moto.

Thank you all my sponsors for backing me this season. It has been hard to make all the races that I wanted to. I didn’t understand how intensive this years schedule was. Now I know and am looking forward to next year and moving into the Junior Class in Motocross. I want to thank my mom and dad again for the sacrifices they made for me, and my dad again for always giving me a well prepped bike and teaching me to work on it myself.

My next report will cover the races for September and thank you all again for your support.

Race update for Walker Andreasen #888j/809

July 29, 2006 Tooele County Fair race.

Hi,
Well yesterday I was at Deseret Peak all day long, from 6 in the morning to 6 at night. Boy what a race. In the first moto I pulled the whole shot and held 1st for half a lap. I lost first because I was a sissy on this one jump and rolled it. Second place jumped it and took first. We were battling pretty hard until I went down on the third to last corner. One of the flaggers came and pulled my bike off my leg. I jumped up and got on my bike, and tried to start it but didn’t start. It sounded flooded, so when I went to start it again I held the throttle wide open and kicked it and It started. By this time I had lost two more positions. I was now in forth. I rode it hard for the last 2 laps. I did the one jump I coward on in the first lap. I kept forth and I finished. I was convinced that if I had one more lap I could have taken third.

The second moto I pulled the whole shot again and held first for a lap. Then second came up and we kind of bummed into each other. I know the kid who bumped me did it on accident because I could tell he was losing his balance. He pushed me into some deep ruts and I slowed down so I wouldn’t crash. When I got out of the ruts he was 8 or 10 bike lengths ahead of me. I worked my way back up to him then I went down in the same corner I did in the first moto. I had enough of a lead over 3rd that I was up and running again I was still a half a straight ahead of him. I wanted first so bad I was hauling, so that when I came to the finish line 85 foot table top I didn’t realize that I held the gas on the whole way out of the corner. I came up 10 to 12 feet from clearing it. It was now the white flag, and when I landed I looked for first. He was far ahead I knew I wouldn’t catch up in one lap. I stuck it in cruise control and rode the last lap. When I came around the last corner, what do you know, I had first place. Just kidding, I was in 2nd. I rolled the finish line jump and took off my goggles and headed to the pits. I ended up taking 2nd over all and got the whole shot award (a new jersey). Well that’s about all. c-ya next time.

Race update for Walker Andreasen #888j/809

Hello once again. A lot has happened to me the past few weeks. So lets get started, shall we? First off, I missed a bunch of races. Sorry. Between my broken arm and the high gas prices we didn’t go very far from home. When the cast came off, I started working out again and practicing. Ogden Cycle Park (OCP) or Hot Springs MX was my first race back. I was a little nervous on Saturday morning but after practice I was ready to race.
Saturday, 24 June – Both motos I got decent starts, but the 1st turn was so tight, I checked up so as not to get caught in any possible crashes. This put me in the middle of the pack where I made a few passes and finished 11th then 12th for a 12th place for the day. I was still afraid of the doubles and tried some of the smaller ones in the middle of the course. But being in the pack, I kept having to check up on jumps when someone in front of me did. This slowed me down. In the 2nd moto I tried the back rhythm section and found that I could do it. It had 2 different lines; one was a step off double – roller – double – double – double, the other was a step on double/step off double – small double – double – double - double. I got a huge confidence burst after doing this section and I knew that I could push harder so I did on Sunday. I talked with my dad and we walked the track and looked at lines that night and I knew I could get a top 10, easy.
Sunday, 25 June – “Go get ‘em”. That’s what my dad told me on the line of moto 1. So I did. Except I forgot where I was sitting and when the gate dropped I left so quickly that the riders on either side of me just turned their heads to watch me leave ‘em at the gate. When I got over the gate the front wheel came up and kept coming up. I knew that I was going to loop out so I stepped off the bike and let her go. By the time I got back up and the bike started I was almost 3 corners behind. I rode the first lap a little slow and got used to the way the bike felt now. The handlebars were slightly bent and so was the clutch lever (at least it wasn’t broke this time). When I came around by the pits, my dad was looking at me concerned and gave me a questioning look and thumbs up. I nodded once and dropped the hammer. I passed over half the field in 3 laps and finished 15th. Moto 2 was a lot better. I was 3rd to the 1st turn and 5th coming out. Then my dad says I got brain lock, I just rode around the track till I got to the pits. When I saw the board, it said “you can do it”, I realized that I wasn’t pushing so I pushed harder than ever. I stopped trying to think through every move and just let it happen. We had been working on turns and corner speed during practice, and during the race I didn’t realize what I was doing, I just did it. I made my way up to 5th (so I thought) and was even doing the double of the huge triple in the front section. I was so happy, 5th. But when it was posted I was shown in 9th. I was mad. I went to protest and plead my case but when the ref went and looked at the score sheets, the 4 riders that we thought were lappers were scored on the lead lap by all 3 scorers. Not much you can do about that. So I finished 13th for the day. Still, not bad for my first race back after a broken arm and at a regional NMA qualifying series no less! But most important, I had a whole lot of fun and found I still like to race.
TAX series 1 is completed and I finished 10th in points. Not bad for only doing 2 ½ races. Series 2 starts next month and I am planning on winning the championship, or moving up to the Junior class before the end of the season.
At this time I want to thank all of you my sponsors. THANK YOU. Thank you for supporting me in this year’s effort. I know that we haven’t purchased from all of you, but I want you to know that you were all listed on every entry form at every race that I did. Contracts are starting to come due and I will be sending out new résumé’s for next year. I am hoping to race the 85, 12-13 Junior and Supermini classes in the Wild West Nationals and do a few WORCS as well. I realize now that my schedule was too much this past year and with the way costs have been it was a hardship on my parents to get me to all the races that they did. I want to thank them as well, as they supported me 120% in this endeavor. I am looking forward to next year as it looks like we will have at least 2 money sponsors. But first I have to finish this year. The next race on my schedule is Rupert, ID, but I will not be going due to finances. So my next race will be on the 29th at the Tooele Fair.
I want to welcome Osiris Shoes and Ferodo Brakes to the team. They will be with us next season as well.
Again, Thank you all and hope to see you at the races.

Race Update for Walker Andreasen #888j

March 18, 2006 – Crazy Horse, Lake Havasu, AZ – 2nd WORCS race.

Hi Everyone!

I just got back from my second race of this year. It was at Lake Havasu, AZ. I think it was the best race of my life because I started dead last out of 77 riders and at the end of my first lap I ended up 36th in my class. At the start line, as I started my bike, I fouled my plug. After my dad ran back to the truck and got a new plug, I started 2 ½ minutes behind my line and 1 minute after the last line left. At the end of the race I finished 31st out of 44 in my class and 53rd out of 77 overall. If you look at my lap times you will see I was very consistent with my lap times, except for 1 lap. That lap I got held up with some other riders at the bottom of a hill. There were riders stuck on the hill that couldn’t get to the top of the hill. Finally, they had us cut across the course so we wouldn’t be waiting for so long.

At this race I also entered the team race. In the team race there are 2 riders per team. One rider starts and completes a lap then returns to the start box. He then hands the “scrunchie” off to the 2nd rider who then must complete a lap. This continues until the time runs out. Kaiden Kirby and I were a team. There is no official scoring for this race so it’s really hard to know where we “officially” placed. I do know we finished in the top 3 of the “C” riders. We did have a lot of fun though. I’m going to enter the team event whenever they have it.

I have some bad news. I’m not going to the World Mini Grand Prix this year. It’s just not money efficient for us. We may go to it next year but not this year. Sorry for the all the excitement.
