HS 10.5 Rekindle the fire.

The Trail was tight the trail was dusty and it was more than 90 degrees outside, but that didn't stop me from being 2nd into the woods. I got a great start went just as planned pushed hard and I was out front of all the dust. Bike is running great I think the jetting is finally dialed in. I lead the first lap till about the 10 mile marker where my energy had waned and I started making mistakes, I crashed three times pretty hard, one of those times I bounced out of a whoop and hit a burned out pine tree at about 4th gear pinned. To my surprise the tree SHATTERED! And I kept going only to miss a turn and get passed by #21 the series leader, but this wasn’t a problem. I was going to catch him, or so I thought my body had other ideas. I cut a corner tight and went through some bushes; but didn’t make it very far as the hidden vine in those bushes wrapped around my bike and held me there. It took almost a minute to free my bike. By then I was heat soaked and done. To add insult to injury my camelback’s mouth piece fell off and let all my water out of my camel back, the race suddenly went from winning to finishing.

I went on to finish 7th.

So, yeah the bad luck is gone.

The bike was great!

Leading the class was a blast! I know I can do it now in theory and practice.

I have a strong desire to win that class next season. With a little more conditioning I will add another series jacket to my collection. You could say it rekindled my fire, because all those DNS or DNF’s were getting to me. LET’S GO RACING!!!! BARRRAAP!!
