Overview

How I got started

I raced professional flattrack in my teens. I then went onto motocross for many years. I started riding bicycles and then started to race cross country. Went to a norba national and saw the downhill racing and really liked it. Felt I could do that and be competitve and bought my first downhill bike and can`t get enough of it.

Goals for the Future

In 2008 I plan on racing some of the racing series on the east coast. I would like to do the US Open again, along with the Plattikill series. Will race the Norba Nationals and the NC norba race. Would like to try and get some west coast racing in.

Bio

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

Training consist of bike riding, weight training, mental training by training retrievers (dogs). Plan on doing more training for the upcoming 2008 season and going in with a strong attitude and body. Will try in get another training camp in with Gene Hamilton.

Music?

I like most music with alternative music being liked the most. I like to listen to it while riding and have found that it improves my riding.

Why do you compete?

I`ve raced in some form of sport all of my life and I have that burning desire to push myself in some form. It makes me feel alive inside when I compete and brings fulfillment in my life. I love to compete.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I don`t ever want to grow up. I want to be that 60 to 70 year old that I`ve seen standing up on the podium at the nationals.

Employment / Experience Summary

I`ve worked since I was 11 yrs old . My first job was with my father in his automobile shop doing all kinds of mechanical jobs. I then went on to work at Sears as a mechanic. Decided I needed something else in life and joined the Navy. There I became a steelworker, welding, fabricating, cutting, and other forms of construction. I then decided to join the Army where I drove tractor trailers in supply. I got out after the Persian Gulf war and have worked on my own in construction and welding. Also I have taken the time to raise my daughter.

Competitive Highlights

So far this year has started out well. Racing at Massahuateen against Susan Haywood, who kicked my butt. It was alot of fun. I then went on to race the US Open and placed a 3rd. Was very nervous about this year because last year I seperated a bone in my shoulder and this year I had a massive cold. Just a psych deal. I then got picked up from Morewood bicycles and sold my Cannondale. I love the feel of the Morewood and the geomotry of it. Also Morewood is a very great bike company. I raced my Morewood at the Mt Snow race and placed first. I barely put my bike together the night before. I'm looking forward to racing this year and hope to do well. I want to thank my sponsors who support me. Team CMI,Morewood,The Bike Shop,Sock Guy,E-13,Scott,Magura,661,ODI,Sic.
