Who am I?
Well I am 44 years old, and I am just getting back into racing Enduros. I used to race a lot in the late 70s, early 80s. I had a 78 IT 400, then in 1983 I bought an IT490. I ended the 85 year ranked #6 Open Expert in CRC. In 1985 Yamaha was offering support rides and I got a good deal through them and bought a YZ490, with parts support. I ended the 1985 season, #5 Open Expert. At the time, it seemed that all I was doing was racing racing racing. Lets just say that my wife said that I need to make a choice between her or racing. I chose her, so my last race was Barstow to Vegas in 1985. I ended up getting 3rd overall, and 2nd in class. It was nice to leave on an up note. I had always wanted to get back into racing again... eventually. Well we had kids, and they are now old enough to ride so we all ride, and I have started up racing again.
I love racing Enduro's because it requires me to think when I am riding and try to out fox the organization that is putting on the race. There is nothing better than the feeling of zeroing a check, or finishing a grueling race and saying "I did it, I did not quit!"
