I was really fortunate to be able to go to Orlando for the Disney Cup. My mom planned the whole thing. She even learned how to break down my bike and put it back together again. We flew in in time for me to go to Super Camp the day before the racing started. I love camp. All of my favorite racers were there. I was really happy to see Bubba back on a bike. He's such a great coach and all us kids think he's great. I got to spend a lot of time working on my gates with Joey Bradford. He's one of my all time favorites and has one of the best gates in all BMX. I work really hard at camp. Mom was worried I'd be too tired to race on Friday!



On Friday I had a really good day. I won my first moto and went on to the Semi. Our friend Todd Betts said I totally nailed the first turn and I looked just like an 8 Expert. I couldn't ask for a nicer compliment! The track was really different than the ones at home. It was made of orange sand! It was a really cool track and lots of fun. I liked it a whole bunch. In my Semi I got squeezed a bit and had to make my way through the pack. I passed a couple of riders in the rhythm section. I really wanted to make the main. At Super Camp I had to do push-ups if I didn't pedal over the line. There's even a photo of Jimmy Monroe making me do them here on Sponsor House. It is a lesson that I won't ever forget! The rider ahead of me sat down after the last table-top before the line. I came off the table like a rocket and pushed my bike across the line ahead of him! In the main I got caught in the pack and came across the line in 5th.



Friday after the racing it rained pretty hard so the next morning everything was pretty wet and slippery. In the first moto I spun out at the gate and slid out in one of the turns. I have been running slicks since Reno and they weren't working great in the wet. Mom came to the rescue and asked me if she should change the tires. I said, "YES!!!" and she went right to the tents and got Intense Micro Knobbies put on for the second moto. I made the semi but got squeezed again in the pack. I just missed making the main.



On our way back to the hotel we happened to go by the Redman Yamaha tent and my mom and I saw Mr. Van Ogle, Kelsey and Lain's dad. Mom told him that I didn't make the main and asked him if he had any pointers for me. Mr. Van Ogle asked me to suit up and he'd do some gates with me! We did lots of gates and Kelsey even came over before her main and we did a couple together. Mr. Van Ogle is really cool about helping all the kids be the best racers they can be. He is always there with tips and guidance and support for everyone! He's helped so many people and he is another great reason why I love this sport. I'm definitely better because of his help.



Sunday I raced both Mixed-Open and my class. The track was drier and faster and it was really fun. The competition is pretty fierce at the Nationals but all the kids are really pretty cool. I got 5th in both Mains today. All in all it was the greatest time. After all the racing I got to go to Disney World and to MGM Studios and I went on my first huge roller-coaster. It was awesome. I can't wait to go again, next year.



When I got home it was so great to get e-mails from Garret and hear about all the people who saw mom carrying both me and my bike through the mud on the Go211.com web site! It is great to know that all my friends were rooting for me while I was there. This sport just gets more fun all the time. There are so many people that help out and we are so thankful for all the help. Now I am back and excited for the next races. See you all at the track. I'll be practicing like crazy!
