To whom it may concern: My name is Tyler Evans and I am 19 years old. I currently live in Brighton, CO. I have been riding dirt bike since I was only five years old. Riding has been my passion ever since. Do to financial problems I was unable to compete in my first race until I was 15. After my first race I knew I wanted this to be more than just a hobby. I raced on and off for four years. I entered 15 races and for the most part, finished top five. I had many plans for the 08 racing season, but they were shattered at the end of 07. I pretty much tore my right hand off, the only thing holding it on was skin, with the help of pins and screws I am now 80%. In May 08, after a few rides back, I cracked a rib and had three hair line fractures in my back. With time I healed, but not for long. In august I needed shoulder surgery, two months later they believe that surgery has failed and I need another, likely in November. The 08 season is over and I didn’t even have a chance to race once! To love something so much and not have an opportunity to do it has killed me; I see everything I worked so hard for, all of my dreams and goals going down the drain. There is nothing worse than watching your dreams slip away when you can do nothing about it. I pay nearly everything on my own, which is very hard. I also owe a lot on surgeries now. Throughout all of this, my vision has not changed; all I have to do is alter the big picture. My goals for 2009 are to stay healthy, ride smart, and just have fun with it again. In 09 I plan on racing 250B/ amateur. Toward the end of the season I want to go to MTF which is the number one motocross camp in the U.S.A. Then move up to 250A/Local pro. It will be hard getting back to where I was. I know I can do it though. I may not be the fastest, but I have more heart and determination than anyone I know. Most people would have quit from my first injury. Like Rocky says: “It’s about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward”. These injuries have taken a toll on me mentally, physically, and financially. Throughout this last year everything has changed, except for one thing and that is my dream of one day becoming a pro motocross racer! With that said, the 09 racing season is going to be an expensive one. I plan on racing all of the season (when I am fully healed from the recent surgery). So I am writing you in hopes of some kind of sponsorship. Whether it's covering my race entrees, or discounts, anything at this point will help and whatever it may be I will greatly appreciate it! Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you in the future.
