Hey guys,

So today we headed down to Goodwood Kartways for race #3 of the year for myself. The first practise session was simply to get used to the track again, having not been on it for over a year. After that, we had a dismal qualifying session, starting a lowly 10th position. However, in the prefinal, I managed to work my way up to 7th, making some great passes along the way behind some smart driving. In the final, things were looking up, and I held position on the first corner, however when we got to the 4th corner, I was taken out by someone who locked up their brakes while beside me, hitting me off. With this, I was last, very dissapointing. With that, I started trying to work my way up, with no luck being so far behind. Then the rain started to fall, and with that I took off. I managed to make up some positions, and was even closing on the top 3, however I did not have enough time to close up, and unfortunately just didnt have the kinda race I hoped for. I need to thank all my sponsors, Amsoil, thehelmetman.com, Fluid, and for this race we had RES Precast and Rosseua Road Enterprises for all their help! Next up is the Canadian Nationals!

Hey guys,

So tomorrow is race #3 of the year. I'll be heading down to Goodwood Kartways for the final qualifier for the Canadian Nationals at the beginning of next month. With a still rather dismal engine, our best hope is to gear high, and try to pull as many revs out of this engine as possible. Then I just have to make sure I do my part as a driver and I believe that a solid finish could come. With the great support that we have been able to acquire from RES Precast, we're able to afford a brand new set of racing tires, and so now we hope for the solid finish we know we deserve. I also need to thank Amsoil, Fluid drinks, and thehelmetman.com for their support so far this season. Watch out for my race review, and see you guys around.

Joey Haynes.

Hey guys,

Unfortunately another ultimately dissapointing race. With some promising speed in practise, things were looking good, but with a dismal qualifying leaving me 8 tenths off pace, we started to wonder exactly what was going wrong. After being taken out in the 2nd corner of the pre-final, I was hoping for some luck with the radical changes we made to the kart. Without luck, the radical changes made me slower, and we soon discovered that I was loosing most of the time, down the straightaways, as many as 3-4 kart lengths down each straightaway, which is about 3 of them. I did my best to hold on through the corners, but in the end it just wasnt enough, and nothing good came out of it. We unfortunately don't have the money for an engine rebuild either. I'd like to thank my sponsors Amsoil, Fluid, and thehelmetman.com for their support so far. The next goal is to find somewhere between $500 - $600 for an engine rebuild in hopes of a better chance in the next races.

hey guys,

First race of the year out of the way, and already showing I can improve on my form from last year. Practise went well, as I readapted to the kart, having spent all winter out of it. Following this, a poor qualifying position meant some work to do. In the pre-final, I had worked my way up to around 6th position, before making a driver error, dropping me back a handful of places. However, I went into the final more determined, hoping to pick up some positions. The start went great, picking up a couple more positions, however, on the way down to turn 3, a driver who i was trying to pass kicked sod up from the inside of the turn, with nowhere to go, a detour and spin was the only route of action available to avoid the massive chunk of sod. After I got back going, being very low in the running order, I was going to try and set some fast laps and pass who I could before the end of the race. After picking up a couple of positions, I was going for one more pass before the end of the race. Unfortunately, this driver did not see me, choped down, and I ended up climbing over top of him, effectively taking away all I had just gained back.

So now, with a new positive outlook, I look forward to race #2 taking place this weekend! With a new set of tires ready to be put on before qualifying, and some track time, I'm feeling better than ever and am hoping to be able to put my GP Kart in a solid position before the end of the race, with a podium being my goal for the weekend.

See you all around!

Well,

It's been awhile since I blogged, so I'll update. I was on TV for a second time, this time as athlete of the week. That also went fairly well, plus it meant I got to take out my kart for the first time this year. My first race of the season will be taking place on May 31st, unless sponsorship funding comes along, or a job, then its sooner! Finally, I'd like to thank my new sponsors for comming on! Special thanks to Fluid Drinks, Amsoil Racing, and thehelmetman.com for comming on and sponsoring me! I hope to be able to show you guys some good results sometime soon!

Obviously I was stoked to have such an opportunity! Today, the interview went amazing, hopefully it will turn into some good sponsorship opportunites!
