Q&A - Competition
How did you get started?
My family had always beed advid snowmobilers, so in 2001 when my son came to me and said he would like to try snowcross racing we decided to give it a shot. I was instantly hooked, and thought since we're already here I might as well give oval racing a try. We built a sled, took it to the track, the rest is history.
List your competitive highlights:
Winning the points my first year out in Sportsman 600. Going on to win two consecutive Eagle River championships in my class. Receiving the "Family of the Year" award twice was quite an honor as well as receiving "Oval Mechanic" and "Oval Driver" of the year.
What are you planning for next season?
Oval Pro-Stock 600
What has been your biggest accomplishment?
In life, being the best father and husband I can be. On the track, probably winning at Eagle River.
Q&A - Personal
What inspires you to compete?
My daughter, the excitement I see in her eyes after my podium finishes makes everything I do on the race track worth it. I have some phenomenal sponsors that have been with me from the start, being able to address them throughout the year is the greatest feeling. I also have a very competive side.
Do you train? What does your schedule look like?
I begin training in late summer, running 5 miles a day. My daughter and I visit the track at least 3 times a week, as well as doing some test and tunes out on the lake every weekend.
How's Life Treating You?
Life has been very good to me. I have a very supportive family, my parents who are in their 70's, have attended every race. My daughter is by my side, whether it's in the shop or at the race track,she's my biggest fan, and a wife that cheers me on louder than anyone. Who could ask for anything more?
What do you want to be when you grow up?
If I haven't figured that out by now then I have a huge problem.
