Bio

What inspires you to compete?

Knowing that no matter how good I become, there will always be some one who is better waiting to take it to the top. The everyday challenge of knowing I can somehow be better at every thing I set out to do keeps me inspired to compete.

Describe your style...

I have been compared to Kyle Bennett for the last couple years. I have a low center of gravity speed jumping pull that few can match. Explosive track speed and Smooth power are my main traits. I can manual as far as i want (within reason) and bunny hop around 36-40 inches.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

Yes, I train about 14 or 15 hours a week. My training is based on what I have been taught by John Purse. I dont share to many of the secrets he has told me. I usually start each day with oatmeal and gym work and sprints and then in the afternoon I switch between track/trail skills and sprints. I usually hit the gym 3 times a week, sprints or figure 8`s 4 times a week, trails 2 times a week and track 2 times a week. I usually warm up before riding the track with 9 sprints starting oppisite foot each time with 2 different distances.

Do you like to travel? What's your best (clean) road trip story?

I love to be on the road. I became good friends with Jason Carnes over the past couple years. I would love to spends a couple weeks on the road with Jason. In 2003 when I was chasing my first Title, I was having car problems before the South Park national. A local used auto parts store made me an offer that would get me there. Deal was I had to deliver an engine for Tom Ritz`s fan in Ohio on my way to Pittsburg. In return, I would get to use a company truck and my gas would be covered. I was game for it. I met the lot owner at 10:30 am in winston-salem,NC. I packed all my gear in garbage bags to protect them from the impending rain and oil in the back of the truck. threw our bikes in the back and headed out. We made it to the car dealer in ohio at 4:45. I had to be there by 5pm. Then on our way to the track, we got ourselves lost because we forgot our map and directions to the track when we rushed out of 109 U-pull it. We ended up having a lot of fun and I manualed from one end of the upper drive way all the way around and past the track to the bottom of the hill. It was a good trip!

Employment / Experience Summary

Ive worked in a few bike shops and for Dicks Sporting goods. As a carrer, im a HVAC tech. I have an over whelming knowledge of bikes right down to geometry and materials. Im usually the go to guy with questions about a new bike. I have a great ability to sell. I think this is what makes me so marketable in the bmx world.
