At 18 years old, Torah Bright is making a fast name for herself as one of the most dynamic snowboarders in the world. The Australian born star spends 3 months pf the year in her homeland. While also basing herself inn Salt Lake City, Utah. Torah is very down-to-earth and approachable. She is a sweet heart and is always wearing a smile or laughing with her friends. She emerged into the snowboarding scene when she was eleven years old, but she was on skis at just age two.

She claims that she isn’t competitive by nature, but her amazing contest record suggests otherwise. In 2003/2004 she exploded onto the circuit when dominating the FIS World Cup ratings after the third round of her first World Cup season. From there, Torah has had numerous remarkable achievement, including winning the prestigious Arctic Challenge quarter-pipe in Tromso, Norway in March 2005 with the highest backside air/McTwist ever achieved by a woman, in or out of competition. She also qualified for the 2006 Olympics after winning bronze medals at two FIS World Cup Half Pipe events in Italy this year. Earning an Olympic Gold medal in Turin, Italy 2006 is her ultimate goal and she says winning one would be a career defining experience.

Torah comes from a family of snow bound athletes as well as Olympians. She is the fourth of five children. Her older sister, Rowena, 25, competed in ski racing in the 2002 Winter Olympics and her brother Ben, 20, is also a competitive snowboarder. Ben is her best friends and also her coach and “super” one at that she says. Her other brother, Robin, and sister, Abbey also love to spend time in the snow.

Torah continues to lead the sport of snowboarding for both men and women. Her vibrant spirit and fun loving nature has made her one of the most popular international athletes and most photographed snowboarder in the world. The combination of these factors has resulted in Torah being featured in international television campaigns, on billboards, in newspapers and magazines all over the globe. She was even a character in the Microsoft X-Box Game “Amped 2.” This international coverage and profile will only continue to grow as Torah prepares to take her shot at Olympic gold next year.
